Great Eye doctor.
He is very professional. He does like you to save your questions until he goes over your exam, but is willing to answer them. I am very happy and confident and highly recommend him for your care.

I've been a patient for well over a decade. Dr. Lawrence Frieman is one of New Jersey's very best. I'll be frank... if you're looking for a talk show host kinda doctor or one who says, "Call me by my first name, bro!" then go elsewhere. If you want your eyes examined... and I do mean examined!... by someone who has untold experience and education, then go to Dr. Frieman. He doesn't sugarcoat, he doesn't "happy talk" you to death. He's a professional and is there to do one thing: Take care of your eyes. Friends, I don't care how many people weigh in here. Dr. Frieman genuinely CARES about your eyesight. That's the bottom line. Furthermore, his office staff and assistants are the nicest people you'll ever run across. Always pleasant, even when under pressure. I praise these folks because they're deserving. I praise these folks because that's been my experience since day one.

He has the worst bedside manner...would shine lights directly in your eyes and yell at you if you involuntarily flinch.

I have been a patient of Dr. Frieman's for over 25 years and for the majority of that time have lived outside of Monmouth county but continue to make a 40 minute commute to his office because he is a great doctor. He exhibits a laser focused intensity during my eye examinations that leaves no stone unturned. I know that my eyes are in good hands and feel lucky to have him as my ophthalmologist.

Two years ago, I went for my annual eye exam with Lawrence Frieman. Upon looking in my eyes, he detected cells that were not supposed to be there. This eventually led to a diagnosis of Central Nervous System Lymphoma, an extremely rare cancer. Thankfully, due to his expertise, I was able to get immediate cancer care and am now cancer-free. I am so thankful for Dr. Frieman's quick thinking and concern for my situation. This is a wonderful and professional practice and is very well-run. They also have a wonderful optical store on the premises-Seaview Optical.

I was temporarily in New Jersey and had a severe flare up of Iritis/Uveitis. Dr. Frieman's office worked me in as quickly as possible and continued to follow-up with very thorough care until I returned to my regular ophthalmologist in Missouri. Although Dr. Frieman and his staff knew I was only going to be a temporary patient (I received care there for about 2 months) they gave me exceptional care and expressed sincere concern for my health and well being.

This eye doctor is rude, arrogant, does not answer questions, and greedy. He performed a $65 test that was unnecessary given what I saw him for, which my insurance company refused to pay for. Otherwise my insurance and I paid thousands for all the related tests and procedures. The doctor would not write off his $65 mistake and gave this balance to collection!!!

Dr Frieman 40 years ago agreed to see me when my own Dr said he had no time for me. He treated my eye infection but he also saw something he did not like. After a couple months of testing he saved my eyesight. I would be blind today if not for him. I trust him, he is professional and explains everything. My mom goes to him and I will always recommend him to my family friends and neighbors.

Being in the medical field and having a complicated medical history, I am extremely particular about the doctors I see for medical care. That’s why I chose Dr. Frieman to treat 2 chronic eye conditions I have suffered from since my 20s. With outstanding credentials and state-of-the-art equipment, he delivers exemplory care while at the same time treating patients with compassion and respect. The office is efficient, the staff friendly, and appointments consistently run on time!

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Frieman?
they are a bunch of liars... The office called me up and said I have to go in because the insurance requested additional information for follow up. Unfortunately that was not the case, they then billed my insurance company as a office visit and was not covered which means I am now responsible for the bill and when I called them up they deny any allegation and have sent my bill to collections. JUST BEWARE...

My experience with dr. Frieman is ongoing as he has been by doctor for almost 20 years. He is so professional so meticulous and always goes the extra mile. Takes as much time with me as he does anybody else. He and his staff do such a great job and then there is also Brett like father like son. And having a eyeglass provider is just another Plus at this location
