Meeting schieken hes a very down to business type of guy which I can admire. He took my allergies seriously and even though I tried shots and the weren't for me. He respected my decision and still treats me.

I was having allergic reactions to peanuts but needle testing was negative but refused to do taste test. He kept talking over me. It started bad when my husband was explain my symptoms to him that he tried to hand my husband the stethoscope and said do you want to examine her. He continued to be rude to me. Then when he pulled me into his office to tell me results. he said I see you didn't die. I was scared when I was gagging. He only examined me after my allegra was in me so I felt better.

Dr. Schieken is very knowledgeable and takes the time to listen and try to understand the full picture. He can be “tough” at times when asking questions, but it’s all for the betterment of the patient. I personally like the laid back approach that he has with my young daughter (like not having her tested every week) but rather waiting till she’s older to see what, if anything, has changed. I shopped around for allergist seeing 3 different doctors and he is by far the best I’ve encountered.

Dr. Schieken has been my allergist for more than 20 years and he has been the only allergist that I refer my patients to. I recommend him without hesitation. He is a real doctor who spends time with you and addresses all your concerns and health issues. I am grateful for the care he has given me, as are the patients that I have sent to him for his outstanding care.

Comprehensive is in the title of his practice, and that describes it pretty well. Dr. Schieken has a very holistic approach that focuses on overall wellness. This comprehensive approach provides additional insight into my overall health, not just my seasonal allergy. If you take the time to get to know him and the staff, they are very personable and helpful people.

My first 2 appointments with him were good and the nurses were nice but after I started calling regularly to get my inhaler refilled (which I have had to do monthly for my entire life) they started telling me a month was too soon and questioned if I was abusing albuterol which I was highly offended by because they know my history of addiction (I have 3 years clean why would I throw that all away to abuse a medicine that I need!!!!)
