Dr. Lenny Laureta-Bansil, DO

My daughter went to Dr. Laureta’s clinic for an in office procedure on Wednesday. By Friday my daughter’s pain was intense and we called the clinic because we had a couple of questions to ask Dr. Laureta. We didn’t expect her to drop everything and answer our call immediately so we waited patiently for a return call. She had her nurse call and relay the message to “go see your doctor or go to the emergency room”. We ended up going to the emergency room and my daughter was immediately admitted to the hospital and ended up having to spend five days receiving treatment for a severe diagnosis. Dr. Laureta’s office never bothered to call just to do a patient follow-up after she performed the procedure nor did she ever follow-up to see how things went after we called about the complications. Of course, she might already know about the hospital situation since they requested her contact information.

When I was pregnant with my first, I was fat shamed by the nurses. I don't have, and never have been diagnosed with ANY type of diabetes. I ended up gaining about 35lbs overall, throughout the pregnancy. Dr. Loretta had the nerve to make, what felt like a culturally inappropriate suggestion, saying "maybe eat more baked chicken instead of fried." I have been vegan for three years and this came up at every appointment and vegan patients were rare at the time so I'm not sure why she didn't remember. Even if she forgot, why assume that I eat fried chicken?

Dr. Laureta and her nurse Kerry were were just so rude. I went in to do an annual check up and receive more information on infertility and instead I get shamed for my age (24) Questioned about my marriage and she didn't even address my concerns. Terrible first time experience. she then had the nerve to ask me if my partner was forcing me to have the child. Which is a question to ask if your patient had shown signs of stress or was in a abusive relationship. Speaking to the nurse she asked if I was sexually active, or using condoms. Of course the answers would be no since we are trying to get pregnant (which she put on the chart prior to asking ) instead of a positive rekark she stated wow. You really want to get pregnant now and caught an attitude until I left the clinic. No one in this office should have a say in what a married couple would like to do and by what age they should do things by.

Convinced my child she needed surgery for "mild" endometriosis and had a cyst that required medical intervention. Post op we were told the cyst "naturally" ruptured on its own. Was given ebough pain meds for 2 days post op. Dr. Laureta's nurse assured my daughter that she could make an apt more than 24 hours after she needed to be seen but the doc wouldn't give her any more pain meds. 1-was this procedure necessary 2-being in pain is not her problem 3-no priority apts for post op pt. Pt BEWARE

I called Dr. Bansil's office and left a message with her nurse regarding an urgent matter regarding my IUD. I received no call back. I called back one week later and left another message. Still no call back. Now I am calling back today, 2 weeks later, a full month from the original call, and Dr. Bansil is on vacation. Not impressed. Making an appointment elsewhere for followup.

I am 34 and have been suffering from pelvic organ prolapse since having my daughter 6 years ago. After meeting with Dr. Laureta-Bansil, discussing my options, and coming up with a surgical plan, I am confident in going forward. She really took the time to listen to my problems and concerns and did an excellent job explaining the procedure in a way I could easily understand.
