Very cordial. Explained procedure and I would like to have him do the procedure. My insurance is not in network. The office will connect with my insurance and get back to me.

Great surgeon but no bedside manner
I saw him once by the consultation and never again until my husband was readmitted for complications a week after the surgery. When he came into the step down unit room he did not look at me or acknowledge that I was even there. I had a bunch of questions but I was unable to ask, first because I was very intimidated by him and he only addressed my husband and not me, and finally he was in and out before I had the time to ask him. He does not have good bedside manner at all. I had to call my husband's cardiologist in Colombia Hospital (He had the records of everything that had occurred since they are all under NY Presbyterian hospital) to explain everything. He calmly and with patience and caring explained everything. Even the hospital staff and some of his team facial expressions made me realize that it was not just me but that he is known to not have good bedside manner and deal well with the patient's family. The staff on the units told me he does not have good bedside manner

I had a triple bypass and a replacement mitral valve. Can’t believe the difference it has made to my life. I feel and look so much better. Dr has a wonderful bedside manner and I was convinced I was his favorite patient. He is followed by students during his rounds.

Recommend highly.
The 4th surgeon I consulted for elective thoracic aortic aneurysm repair and replacement of a 30 year old St Jude aortic valve. His approach matched my research. 21 weeks post op, 6 day hospital stay, zero complications and complete recovery thanks to highly effective, professional, efficient and courteous CICU nurses and staff. The absolute same goes for stepdown care. Scheduling, post stay care and monitoring, outstanding. Anesthesia was perfection, pain management on point. This institution lives up to its reputation unquestionably. This doctor and his team are the epitome of excellence.

Post op visit
Has a big surgery in June 2023 called TAAAR. I was rightfully recommended to him by another Motown surgeon. Rightfully so. He’s tops in his field. He’s careful and thorough. I had an infection in my incision months later and all local drs sent me back to him. Will get a CTSCAN and he will take care of the issue. He will follow my progress in the coming years.

Average visit
The staff was great. Dr Girardi was good as well. He explained the plan for my surgery very clearly. My appointment was for 1 pm but Dr. Girardi got to the appointment @ 1:35 pm. He was just getting out from surgery which was understandable. The appointment seemed a little rushed.

Ascending Aortic Aneurysm Repair
I was followed by Dr. Girardi for the past few years after I discovered that I had an Ascending Aortic Aneurysm. When it grew to a size that required surgery, Dr. Girardi and his Team performed the surgery and repaired my Aorta. The surgery and recovery went exactly how Dr. Girardi had explained. I am forever grateful to Dr. Girardi, his Team, Staff and everyone involved at NY Presbyterian Weill Cornell for saving my life.
