When my son was less than a week old, we requested to see Dr. Kaplan for unusual newborn behavior. He was very lethargic and unwilling to eat, and I expressed that concern to Dr. Kaplan. He repeatedly told me our son was fine, and sent us on our way. The next day we had our midwife come out, and we were advised to take him to the ER immediately. When we got to the ER he was severely dehydrated, and his blood sugar was 26. We were immediately transferred to CHOP, and were in the NICU for 4 days.
