Where is the Patient Care
I have left several messages for Dr Vando's office regarding treatmen. He has not returned any. Not sure is it because the community he services in the Bronx are people of care but that type of unresponsiveness to patient care is abysmal. His office was located on East 233rd St in the Bronx. This office was closed and he moved to Nereid Ave in the Bronx..Over the past 3 days I have left messages for him at his office No Response

Not reliable at all
Office is clueless. Never calls back. Abandoned my son TWICE by two separate therapists. So-called supervisor never returns call. Don’t bother leaving a message because they’ll never call you back. Beware

My husband has gone into mental crisis on multiple occasions because of the recklessness and unprofessionalism of this practice. On 3 occasions, they have not prescribed enough anti-anxiety medicine to cover till his next appointment and were unreachable in between appointments including when he was in crisis and when our other doctor desperately tried to reach them as well. With my husband's anxiety and blood pressure he is at risk of stroke or heart attack in addition to mental distress every time they send him on this rollercoaster because of negligence and total disregard of mental health. When confronted, they make excuses, and worse, do the same thing again. We are about to run out of his meds again and they have ghosted us again about a follow up appointment to renew his prescription or responding to us in any way. From what has happened before, by the time they finally re-emerge his medication will be out of his system and we'll have to start over from square one.... again.

Vando is ok. His office/admin staff are rude, unpleasant, and barely competent. They don't respect patients time/schedule or mental health. He will see you for 5-10 minutes double/triple book and you will wait. If you want to feel like you wasted your time/day, have your needs unmet/be routinely ignored and potentially have years of side-effects visit Vando. Not worth the hassle. His office is borderline predatory as one of the view Mental Health Providers in the North Bronx. Treats his patients like cattle, you will probably feel like just a number and be routinely overbooked. If you want to get to the root of your problems and experience true change, look for a more responsible and compassionate provider possibly pay out of pocket, read books, practice mindfullness be prepared to take more of a proactive/consistent approach to your own mental health. Vando is simply a medication mill churning patients in and out. If you want a better quality of life try a different therapist/doctor.

Disappointed – Apr 07, 2021

Horrible, they never answer the phone when you call or return your phone calls when you leave messages. One receptionist who answered the phone was very rude and hung up on me without even ending our conversation. There are never appointment slots available and they always want you to come in for a refill. Horrible service.

I've been trying to get in touch with the Dr. Vando Harlem office for weeks. I've left voicemails, sent emails, Facebook messages, left comments on their Facebook wall, my pharmacist has tried to contact twice, and called the other location...no response as of 7:13pm on June 17th. According to another reviewer, the Harlem office has closed. Where was the notification? A little letter, call, or email to let your patients know would have been a kind gesture so we could make other arrangements. I have no medication and my therapist's recommendation for a new doctor can't see me until July. This is completely unacceptable! I will be filing a complaint with the NY Dept of Health.

Harlem office closed and my NP provider left the practice. The office NEVER informed me, RARELY returned my calls (LITERALLY 1:10 calls), never scheduled a follow up, refused to refill my medication without an appointment and never actually offered me an appointment. Currently out of medication and hoping I can find a new doctor in the next few days. INCREDIBLY irresponsible.

Waited almost 2 hours, only to be seen by a nurse to do an intake, demanding a urine test and a referral to get bloodwork. I made an appointment with the MD and was not told this over the phone. My appointment was rescheduled numerous times. The front desk/phone staff were incredibly rude and refused to take any responsibility for the lack of efficient scheduling. In addition I saw insects crawling on the furniture in the lobby, which may have been bedbugs.

I have to give this Dr. a 5 star. He really knows how to help. I feel much better and he has given me all the tools that I need. Very professional and kind. I waited for 20 minutes for my appointment which was not long at all.

I traveled an hour to Dr.Vando. After waiting for an hour at the actual office, I was informed that I would need to do several medical examinations that I was never aware about. Additionally, the front desk continued to explain that there was only one patient before me when there were five.
