Dr. Matheny is a joy to see. She explains my ultrasound and arranges for a follow up later. She listens and smiles. She remembers what I have said in the past. I really like coming to her.

I am very happy to have Dr Matheny as my Endo doctor. She is always thorough and gives me plenty of time to ask questions and she is concerned with my overall health. I am almost 80 years old and she takes into consideration all of my problems . I couldn't ask for anything more from her. Like I said, she is really a great doctor and a credit to her profession ! I've had PCOS since I was 12 years old and been on Metformin, BC, etc. Nothing seems to work for my PCOS symptoms - the excess hair, the cystic acne all over my body, sweating, anxiety/depression, extreme period cramps, mood swings, sugar cravings, difficulty sleeping, etc. Hormonal imbalance symptoms 101. I came to Dr. Matheny in my 20s after not receiving care for PCOS in a long time and hoping to get to the bottom of my issues and she ran 5 tests and was going to stop there. I am extremely disappointed that I had to ask for more testing (I'm a nurse, so I knew what to ask for and she ran 2-3 tests that would've been diagnosed when I was a child or had obvious external symptoms that I didn't have) and then proceeded to tell me that she's hit a wall and can't find any real hormonal issue (besides PCOS). I feel like I had to beg her to run basic tests of PCOS and that she honestly just wasn't knowledgeable about the syndrome and didn't want to be.

I have been seeing her for a few years. I find her very patient and easy to talk to.

This doctor is okay, however, she works for Vanderbilt and is unreachable. The Eskind Diabetes Clinic in Franklin is a disaster!!! The staff does not respond to calls or prescription requests. Diabetes is not a disease you can put on hold. My DME company has contacted the clinic 5+ times over a period of 2 months for a prescription and documentation. The clinic finally sent the prescription on Friday 9/6/19. However the clinic has never sent the documentation for the prescription and cannot fill the prescription. BEWARE!!! The Eskind Diabetes Clinic does not care for patients well-being.

Dr Matheny is the best. I've used her for a couple of years now and even referred several of my friends to her as well. She's very personable, knowledgeable, and looks to help patients, instead of scold them.

She spent time explaining my issues and explaining the possible solutions.
