Dr. Furman was unable to diagnose my ovarian cancer after one month although I had bloated stomach and pain. She never physically examined me or ordered any type of radiology exam. I went to my GI doctor with the pain and bloating and within 12 hours I had had a scan and the horrible diagnosis of Advanced Ovarian cancer. At this period of time, I received a call from Dr. Furman’s nurse, telling me that I needed to go back North for treatment and Dr.Furman no longer wanted me as a patient. Thank God I was able to go back to New York and after surgery and chemotherapy, I have survived and at this moment am in remission.- no thanks to Dr.Furman. Do not go to this woman.

IUD replacement, NOPE
I was already nervous as I've had a really tough time with previous insertion, I emailed over a month ahead to have her review my previous chart, the staff gets 5 stars in my opinion, very concerned, super responsive. However, Dr. Furman seemed to not care what I said about my previous experiences. The staff had everything prepared for my procedure, Dr. Furman basically ripped out my old IUD, without warning or numbing at all, then disregarded staffing offering to get needles to do lidocaine injection as I had emailed about prior to my visit, proceeded to say she only does one or the other, she choose lidocaine spray, so basically she traumatized my cervix and myself, I had to walk away without a new IUD in place, she said that I would need ultrasound guided and injected lidocaine for insertion, after not at all listening to me as to what I needed, I told her I needed lidocaine injection prior to insertion. I had to tell her to stop and not finish getting the procedure done!!!!!

Terrible ! I am an RN FOR 34 years and never had an STD . All of a sudden last year I have an STD SQUAMOUS CELL cancer diagnosis. I got another pap 1 year later . It has been 2 weeks since I had the Pap test. It was posted on my chart. Even though I am an RN I want an explanation of results. I am so anxious. No call back all day. I called at the end of day and she was not in office today and no one can Can give me results. I was told the lab was behind . I think the lab gave me the wrong results in the first place. I am totally disgusted!

Dr. Furman was my ob/gyn in Toms River, NJ. I have known her for over 20 years. She delivered my son almost 15 years ago. She’s kind, professional, and ONE of the BEST doctors I have ever had. When she relocated to Florida, I was really upset to no longer be her patient! I now live and Naples, Florida. I’m looking forward to making an appointment with her. She’s wonderful and I’m so happy that she’s now in practice close to home ...again!!!

Horrible! Ordered lab tests that weren't approved by me or necessary, in the amount of $1,132.00, turns out she was testing me for sexually transmitted diseases. I discussed with her that I was 70 years old and hadn't been sexually active in years. She's a piece of work, and when you look at the testing she orders, it's 100% more often than her peers. Scary lady.
