Dr. Leslie Nona, MD

Dr. Nona was my primary care doc for 8 yrs & was highly recommended, which is why I stayed w/her so long. She was always cordial, but missed several conditions that were then caught by other doctors. For ex., she left me on a prescription NSAID for years even though it's bad for kidneys. When I finally switched to a different dr, he told me at my FIRST APPT to stop the med,. explaining that I should never have been taking NSAIDs bec. my medical history showed I already had damaged kidneys from infections when I was a kid. Nona missed that, despite treating me for YEARS. Dr.Nona also failed to correctly diagnose a life-threatening condition bec. she didn't dig deep enough to determine the real cause of my symptoms. I ended up going to the ER a few days later, where that doc ran tests and made the correct diagnosis within 2 days. I could list more ex. of her carelessness, but you get the picture. Maybe she was a good dr. long ago, but now seems to be just coasting.

Dr. Nona is always very thorough and compassionate. It is odd to say, but I always look forward to going to see her!

I have been a patient of Dr Nona’s for 15 years. Unfortunately, she refuses to evolve and educate herself on current medical practices. This became obvious as my husband and I did IVF and she became incredibly difficult for us and our fertility clinic to work with. I also suffer from anxiety and instead of being able to have a forward thinking conversation about mental health and pregnancy she threw her hands up and said I would need to just ask my fertility doctor even though she was my prescribing physician and has been since I was 16. Super disappointing.

My wife had a sinus infection and was miserable. We went to Dr Nona (who was filling in for my wife's regular doctor) hoping to get some antibiotics. Dr Nona informed us that she would not prescribe antibiotics and to wait until the sinus infection cleared up on its own. My wife was in tears. The next day we went to Primary Health and got antibiotics. The infection quickly went away. My wife and I don't believe in the over-use of antibiotics either, but in this case they were needed.
