Best Endocrinologist in AZ!!
Dr Lester Epstein is an excellent endocrinologist especially when it comes to the thyroid! He ran all the right thyroid labs and knew how to interpret them. It is extremely difficult to find a doctor who knows how to adjust my thyroid medications so that I feel “normal” and can function. I used to see Dr Boris Catz in Beverly Hills CA who is world renowned and Dr Epstein is right up there in knowledge. They are both a little eccentric but also charming. You can trust his decisions and insights. Thank you Dr Epstein for helping me all these years! You are a 5 Star physician! *****

Dr Epstein had to be asked to put his mask over his nose before he examined me. He had it on his chin as he took my notes so I had to move 6feet away. Surprised me and I wondered if it was a safe place.

I am extremely disappointed and concerned about the lack of care from this Doctor and office. I have osteoporosis and recently moved to Phoenix. I transferred all my prior records to Dr. Epstein's office including all my past Dexa Scans. I take Prolia which is a 6 month injection. It is expensive and does require prior authorization and I choose my health insurance company (BCBS) because they covered the drug. I went to Dr. Epstein, explained my history, and the urgency to get the Prolia as the risk of fracture by delaying or stopping an injection increases 7 times. Two months later.... they did not send in the prior auth until 1 month after my visit, they didn't include any background history so the prior auth was just denied. He racked up $3000 worth of labs which I paid a good part of. They also didn't submit the order for a DEXA scan which is required. VERY poor care, VERY questionable ethics. If I do have another fracture in the coming months they will be hearing from me.

Grumpy old man. Waisted all my strength dealing with him. Now the staff. Those ridiculous untrained humans if you can call them that. They are even more rude then he is. They did this to the wrong person. I will be rude right back. Now I don’t have a dr and they are holding my lab results hostage. Whatever you do do not come to this wack drs office.

You know who I am – Aug 29, 2020

I've seen him for over 10 years. From the first visit up to now, he's been caring and knowledgable about my various concerns and ongoing thyroid issue. He has me do blood work a week before every visit and reviews my results, answering all questions I have. I appreciate how he keeps up to date with modern medicine and educates me. I'm surprised to see several negative reviews because that isn't what I know of him.

Dr. Epstein is extremely rude. He does not listen to his patients nor does he make eye contact. I have charcot foot and he said I should be wearing sandals instead of tennie shoes. At the time I had six dislocations in my feet and he said I needed start oxygen therapy which in no way shape or form will cure osteomyelitis. Dr Epstein it is time for you to retire!!!

Racist patients in the lobby sat in pain for an hour and 50 minutes and they took lunch instead of seeing us. Total bs.

Disgruntled in Phoenix, AZ – May 31, 2018
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Epstein?
Nothing but unprofessional people that work here. They're not capable of thinking on their own and yes this includes his front desk and Dr. Epstein himself. When I went for post galbladder removal problems, he blew me off saying that it was probably an ulcer, which couldn't be the case since I was on meds for ulcers to begin with. The staff and him are slow and rude, you wait an hour and a half until you finally see the dr. No one at the front desk knows how to use a simple phone. Pathetic
