Twenty year patient
Dr. Dabney from first meeting him I felt comfortable, he understood and answered my questions on a level I could understand and if I didn't understand he said it in a way that I could.

Not the worst, but could be better
Dr. Dabney is an ok doctor, but a terrible listener. He fills the entire appointment with conversation about himself and his own interests, leaving little room for patient questions/concerns. I keep being seen for the same symptoms and asked if it could be related to a condition several women in my family have. He was dismissive and told me there was no way I am experiencing as much pain as I claim to be having. He also told me that I was exaggerating my symptoms and that I just needed to wait it out. Less than two weeks later I came back for the same symptoms—I saw a different provider and left the appointment diagnosed with the exact condition I had been asking Dr. Dabney about for months. Also not a fan of getting transvaginal ultrasounds from him. He uses a bit of an aggressive approach and it takes about a week to recover. Saw a different doctor at my last appointment, the ultrasound was uncomfortable but not painful, and I was fine by the time I left the office.

Told me I needed to romance my husband
In talking to him about perimenopausal symptoms and low libido, told me, with a smarmy look on his face, that I should “romance my husband.” So not helpful. Will never go back.

Awkward & Unprofessional
I wish I wasn't writing this but after seeing this practitioner more than once when my usual OBGYN was not available (and unbeknownst to me until he stepped into the exam room, mind you.). At first a boastful and forward need to strike up a conversation seems harmless and awkward, (yes even while tongs and lights are all spread open and blazing downtown) but I'm sorry, does my grimace say I'm interested in making small talk while your head is between my legs? I'm uncomfortable to say the least but it's not the first time I have been poked prodded and violated for the sake of keeping up on my health. That being said, I have routine tests to keep myself in check, I'm a single woman and I take good care of myself. Somehow that equates to rude comments, degrading even as if my request for personal testing is ANY of your business to judge. Waiting for serious results for two months hurts when the last words involve possible cancer, but hey, no biggie, I probably just need BC right?

He felt the need to shake the extra skin on my belly a few years post emergency c section and a rapid, unexplained weight loss. He said no one would find it attractive. No shiite, Sherlock. My son and I both survived and now I am working on surpassing the next obstacle in life. Should have asked how he put his pants on that morning, since we are obviously so different. Thankful for his medical expertise. Maybe,he missed the day that they taught compassion in med school. Proud of my pouch! Glad my son and I both made it.

Dr Dabney has been my doctor for over 10 years. He is a great person and amazing doctor. He makes you feel at ease and explains everything to you where you can understand. No matter what you're going through you can feel confident that you have all the answers and knowledge you need about your condition.

I was nervous about seeing a male doctor. I almost fainted during my visit due to nerves. He was great! He put me at ease and I felt very comfortable with him. I am a sensitive and insecure person all-around and he made me smile and put my mind at ease. I will never see another gynecologist. He also called me personally with my results. I would highly recommend.

Not my doc but spoke with him as an on-call physician about a situation I felt was pretty serious. He was vulgar in tone and later in the conversation made a joke about being me being intimate with my husband while on my period. I was equal parts helped and offended.

I have loved Dr Dabney since my first visit there. He was the first DR. that I found that would sit down and listen to me and not act like it was all in my head. He has since then done 2 surgeries on me and I have done great each time. I have recommended him to many friends.
