Dr. Lewis Frazee, MD

My optometrist had diagnosed me with cataracts, and since my vision had changed significantly in the last 3 months I decided to get a cataract evaluation with an ophthalmologist. Dr Ngo didn't have any appointments available so I saw Dr Frazee. I arrived 15 minutes early, but wasn't called back until 45 minutes past my appointment time. When Dr Frazee came in the room, he looked at my chart and starting naming health issues, focusing on pre-diabetes. I mentioned cataracts, and he said I was too young. He then did a quick exam and sent me to have my eyes dilated. When I came back, he did the dilated exam and after a few minutes said my eyes look good. He said I did have early cataracts but that they wouldn't be affecting my vision yet. When asked about why my vision was getting worse, he said I would need to make a refraction appointment. He then implied that the issue was my current lenses. 3 hour appointment, 5 minutes with dr. Felt completely dismissed. Won't go back.

My vision seems to be declining more rapidly than I expect to be associated with normal aging, so I wanted to see an ophthalmologist to make sure nothing was missed. Dr. Frazee wanted to categorize the visit as routine or medical, for billing purposes, which I understand. However, he rapidly fired questions with a tone that was impatient and rude. When I began to answer 'I think my vision has changed', he interrupted with, 'No! I don't want you to think.' He appeared somewhat belligerent with the scribe who accompanied him, and she seemed miserable. The whole thing was awkward. When they performed the dilation procedure, no explanation of what was happening was provided. I waited 45 minutes after dilation and then returned to Dr. Frazee briefly where he quickly declared 'routine' and gave some input about which lenses to buy-90 minutes in all. I'm sure Dr. Frazee is very knowledgeable, but I found his manner to be abrupt and abrasive. Perhaps he should stick with established patients.

Dr F was very thorough and gave multiple options to help my eye condition. The office was very busy today, Dr F noticed and asked that an additional room be opened. The scheduler is extremely friendly

Been seeing Dr. Frazee for many years. He has always demonstrated a level of concern for my well-being and takes time and care with my eyes.
