Unprofessional and Rude
Telehealth
Despite claiming to be caring and compassionate, my experience with this doctor was the opposite. Her email responses were unprofessional, and she showed little bedside manner. I found her approach to be consistently condescending and dismissive. She has a strict stance on controlled substances, which is understandable, but in my experience, she treats even non-narcotic medications with unnecessary caution. Additionally, I was once stood up for an appointment without any notification. However, when I accidentally missed one, I was scolded and reminded of the no-show fee. After a series of condescending emails, the final straw was when I sent a friendly email requesting to possibly change or adjust a new medication that was ineffective. Her response was once again dismissive and unprofessional. When I later emailed her to express that I didn’t appreciate her tone and asked if there was some kind of problem, she never responded. Made zero attempt to apologize or salvage the relationship

Thorough, Thoughtful & Worth the Search
Dr. Gershengoren only works with patients on nights and weekends, but never once have I felt like a side gig. Dr. Gershengoren is so involved as a college professor as well as a researcher. So, for her to stick psychiatry into her schedule is real testament to her drive for people and their mental health. My first meeting with her was over an hour long and very in-depth. She asked questions and seemed so driven to grasp my emotional experience. She knew the most modern mental health science yet was never haughty. I am confident that her diagnoses are well-thought. I am excited to see where her medical direction will lead. .

After seeing her, I would never return or recommend others to see such a person. She was condescending and uncompassionate. After one visit she stated I did not require assistance. She never returned any calls, even to change medication I did not feel was necessary. She is NOT a professional and should not be allowed to practice. Seek help elsewhere.
