I am a chronically ill patient who avoids the ER unless necessary. I saw this physician after a concerned friend who is an ENT insisted. I had waited a week. As someone who takes daily pain medication, I am always concerned about judgment. That is precisely what happened. I did not ask for any pain medication at any time. This doctor seemed obsessed with the topic and kept bringing it back up, even though it had nothing to do with why I was there. I needed labs, which she claimed she couldn't run. (I have previous medical experience as well and know darn well an ER can run labs.) Once I got home and reviewed my paperwork, I saw that not only was the medication list in my chart completely incorrect, but it also had sent me home with resources for mental health and substance abuse. Completely inappropriate. The next day, I got my labs and was appropriately treated. The ER DX was incorrect. Avoid at all costs if you have chronic health conditions.
