Good Doctor
I was referred to Dr. Higdon by my retiring neurologist for a condition that’s been stable for years. She’s now in the new large building at 11th and Chestnut. The check in staff aren’t that friendly, impersonal . The waiting room is very bright- direct sun with no blinds (bring sunglasses if you have sensitive eyes). They called Mr back 10 minutes past my appointment time. The exam rooms are ok-large electronic board in the room which you use to checkout. After about 30 minutes past my appointment time, I was getting impatient. I looked in the hallway a few times, eventually seeing her and she said she’d be in shortly. She finally came in, saying she had a new patient appointment before me. Not her fault- Jefferson should do better at scheduling and updating- nobody let me know that she was running almost an hour late. She’s kind, patient and listens to any issues. I like her, I do not the new ultra-modern office.

Excellent Dr.
Telehealth
Dr. Higdon worked with my husband and me regarding new seizures. We were thrilled to find out that they weren't epileptic seizures. She has helped us with finding ways to connect to the professionals that we need to help me. She has also been great at answering all our questions and NEVER made us feel ignorant or discounted. She has also actively included my husband in all the appointments because he observes these night time incidents. I feel blessed to have her as one of my physicians. We have used her for both telehealth and in person appointments.

I was referred to Dr. Higdon by another neurologist. Dr. Higdon was friendly and attentive. She gave such good explanation's verbally and written. I was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2016 and after she listened to my story; every episode and medication issues, she helped me to find out that I did not have epilepsy. She took me off my medication and sent me back to my regular neurologist for another EEG. I couldn't be happier! She's a wonderful doctor. I would HIGHLY recommend her.

Did not order tests. Was only interested in over-medicating & not finding the underlying cause of my breakthrough seizures. Was unaware of any issues that were not “textbook” and would not take any patient history of into account.

Excellent experience, Extremely thorough. . Explained things in a way that we could easily understand. Allowed time for us to ask questions and express our concerns. Put together an action plan starting me on medication to prevent nocturnal seizures. Ordered an MRI to gather more data than what the EEG showed.. Very compassionate.
