Dr. Lisa Flarey, DO

I recently fired Dr. Flarey after 20 yrs because of the ongoing hostile environment in her office. The receptionist is difficult, rude, & unprofessional. She determines whether or not I can see the Dr, knows all about my medical history, schedules follow up appts without discussing it with me, tells me to call and cancel if it doesn't work, then she writes in my chart that I cancelled. I get charged a copay for my yearly well visit., when I question anything I am treated as if I am out of line to have a question. I asked for a receipt 3x at my last appt & finally had to open my purse to prove that none was given to me in order to get a receipt. An MA told me I had a 5 cm nodule on my thyroid, which led me to call an endocrinologist at the univ hospital. Turns out is was 5mm - she misread. Dr. Flarey will not talk to patients unless you have a pd appt. staff told me to find a new doctor if I didn't like it there, then hung up on me. It is a horrible doctor's office. And she allows it.

Receptionist will not let you talk to the doctor or a nurse practioner. I believe that my messages for the doctor are not being passed along. My prescriptions are not being called in in a timely manner. I'm sad to say that my wife and I will be looking for another family doctor in the very near future. Dr. Flarey is not the problem, but some of her staff is. It is not the receptionist place or business to answer my medical questions.

Dr. Flarey listens, addresses your concerns, takes them seriously and works with any situation you have. Also has a very pleasant manner.

I was very disappointed that I was unable to speak directly to Dr Flarey or the nurse practitioner that had made the proper diagnosis for me. The office staff was unsympathetic and made it clear that they no longer wanted to take the time to truly understand me. I was asked to make an appointment and when I got there I was told that it was still too soon for a proper follow up. Trying to resolve this issue to prevent it in the future proved futile. I am truly sad to leave a wonderful nurse.
