Dr. Lisa Hollar, MD

Dr. Hollar has been apart of all my pregnancies spanning the years 2006 - 2021. She has been a keen and observant doctor making sure that both the baby and I were healthy at each stage as I was considered high risk for each one. I also felt that she listened to any concern I had and responded with care and kindness. I would recommend her without hesitation and am so grateful for her!

My experience with Dr. Hollar was terrible. I often felt like my visits with her were cold and critical at best. I never seemed to be doing the right things when I’d come in. Gained too little weight, then too much. Blood pressure high but always normal when I would be sent to triage, etc. As far as delivery, my baby measured large during a scan on my due date and she recommended a c-section. After getting a second opinion, I declined the operation and was met with much disdain. She made it very clear she didn’t agree and wasn’t happy with my choice. When she did attend the birth she was cold and, I felt, deceptive, giving me an episiotomy without making it clear to me that that’s what she meant by “helping the baby out”, which left a cut on my newborn’s head. After the birth I thanked her for being there and was met with no response. She just left. Postpartum care was cold and curt. This was many years and two babies ago but I still hurt over having such a bad experience.

I really used to like Dr. Hollar she delivered all of my kids but with my last pregnancy I had some complications which may have led to my emergency C-section & my son admission to the NICU, After being discharged I was readmitted with serious life threatening conditions & my son has a internal birth defect that may had caused his distress in the womb & now he needs surgery. So my concern is rather or not Dr. Hollar overlooked my conditions & if my sons defect could of been detected in the womb.

Due date is 2/14/16 which falls on a Sunday. I attempted to schedule my c-section and I was told that the doctors do not work on the weekends and that I have to have my surgery 2/8/16 instead. I've never heard of this in my life. So no babies are born over the weekend when it comes to this practice? If I could switch providers I would but it is too late in my pregnancy.
