Hysterectomy
I had a hysterectomy! She and her staff are top notch. Her bedside manor is on point and very caring. Very little scaring. I knew exactly what to expect from the surgery. You can call at anytime and get your questions answered at any time of the day.

Dr. Underwood is kind, caring, and compassionate. She really listens to your questions/concerns, and responds in a very thoughtful and detailed manner. She was incredibly kind and patient with me during one of my appts after I was having a very rough day, and I am so grateful for that. She’s never been late to any of our appts. I cannot recommend Dr. Underwood enough.

ZERO stars. Summary of a long story: nobody answers the phone --> 2 weeks to get one appointment --> other 2 weeks to “Review my data” --> Dr. Lisa Underwood visits me but she is NOT able to perform the Colposcopy I needed --> they sent me a bill of $150.45 for a procedure that they were NOT able to do --> they charged my insurance for an insane $835. Basically they charged me for a Gyn visit that I DIDN'T need and that I have never requested. In fact, I had the same identical visit two week earlier at KP. Now I have to pay someone else to do what they were not able to do. It’s like saying that you go to mechanic for an oil change, they can’t do it, so they charge you for just trying. Meanwhile you have to pay another mechanic to do the work.

Not very good and completely unacceptable for a professional who states she cares about women. She has no regards for her patients who show up a few minutes late because of something out of a pts control. A horrible traffic accident. We were told by the front receptionist that Dr. Underwood is very srtict about her time and there is no excuse to be late for her appts. But, yet I read in other post how pts. wait over an hour to see her, some leave and don't wait, but I guess that's okay. She must feel her time is more important then the pts. time. Life is not perfect and there are exceptions to the rule at times. Not a compassionate person and she's not the only doctor in San Diego.
