Dr. Lorraine Chrisomalis, MD

Personality wise, I would say Dr. Chrisomalis is friendly and personable. She treats you like a friend. But that’s about it. I understand she’s not an OB but she can do very little in her office except regular check ups and maybe some small, common, issues. A couple of times I had things come up that she couldn’t treat in her office and she referred me to another GYN. She can’t even remove or replace an IUD, for example. In one instance, I was in a lot of pain and had to wait to see some other doctor I hadn’t ever seen. So basically, if you want an all around gynecologist, who you can rely on, I wouldn’t go to her. She also sends prescriptions to pharmacies that she is friendly with and on several occasions made it sound like only these pharmacies could do it. Not true. I was delayed getting my prescriptions because I waited on her pharmacy, when I found out later my regular pharmacy could have filled it. It feels dishonest.

I've been seeing Dr. Chrisomalis for at least 15 years & she is the absolute best! If you're rushing, she's rushing. If you have questions & want to talk, she's always happy to put on the breaks and is extremely thorough. The kindest, most compassionate provider I've ever had.

Dr. Chrisomalis is an absolute gem. I can't say enough about her wonderful bedside manner. She's amazing. If you're looking for a compassionate, thoughtful, thorough doctor, look no further.

Dr. Chrisomalis was the best. Very warm, friendly, and punctual. Listened to all of my concerns and really made my visit great. Can’t wait to go back!

Dr. Lorraine Chrisomalis was punctual, professional and very well versed in women’s health. She listened to my concerns and answered each one with patience and diligence. Overall has excellent bedside manner and clinical competence, will definitely be a life-long patient. Highly recommend.

I have been seeing Dr. Chrisomalis over for regular appointments over two years. She seemed to be caring and pleasant. However since early April she seems to have totally abandoned her practice and patients. I have tried to call many times and voice mail is either full or the line is not in service. The few times I was able to actually leave a message no one ever got back to me. Called again April 13th as I need an RX refill and voice mail said "for patients needing a refill go to an "Urgent Care Center. Covid 19 aside who leaves their patients in the lurch. If she is not able to handle her practice at least provide a back-up GYN for her patients to contact. So disappointing.

I had a fine in-office experience, though the office was pretty disorganized. (She told me to call to schedule a test and when I called she said "remind me why I wanted you to get this test done again?") She abruptly closed her practice in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, with no notice, and the phone appears to be disconnected -- she has also not returned my emails. I had tests done and have been unable to get the results or find out what next steps are. I also haven't been able to get a prescription refill.

I have been a long-standing patient of Dr. Chrisomalis. She is usually very personable but is always late and rushes you during appointments. I never minded that though because she was very accessible. However during the covid19 times, she has been completely unreachable. I have called and left messages several times for the last two months asking for a prescription refill. I am outraged. It is so stressful and frustrating to not have basic needs met. It is unethical how she is treating her patients. There are doctors who are heroes on the frontlines in New York saving lives and she can’t even refill my prescription because she will gain nothing from it. I will never see her again and tell everyone I know to do the same.

Nice, but I felt rushed. Lab recommended follow-up tests, which she never notified me about. I called her to request the scripts for the tests and she never sent them. Don't trust when a doctor says if you don't hear from me, assume everything is ok. I would never recommend anyone to her.
