Dr. Louis Okafor, MD

Dr. Okafor is extremely knowledgeable, dedicated, genuine & excellent surgeon. Knee replacement, fracture femur, manipulation & splitting my knee open in a fall he has been with me & my husband through it all. He calls me not his staff. You need this doctor.

This man is the template that ALL doctors should be measured against. He is absolutely incredible! Conscientious, caring and a more than capable surgeon! I will never allow another orthopedic surgeon to touch me!

We found him to be friendly and he explained everything very well. He put us at ease about the surgery and post op treatment with his explanations of how he does a knee that has RA like mine.

Great bedside and very personalble

I am a 75 year old patient of Dr. Okafor. I had my right hip replaced in 2021 by his blessed hands. Today I can walk with no pain and I take not one pill. Dr. Okafor is an excellent surgeon.

My wife and I met Dr. Okafor at Premier Health South late last year. She was looking for a surgeon to do a total knee replacement on both of her knees. We met with Dr. Okafor and scheduled her left knee replacement for January 7th. Her surgery was performed on the 7th of January, she was released from the hospital on the 8th and began her therapy a couple of days later. Her pain was minimal and she was dancing at my nephew's wedding reception in mid March. She was so excited to get her first one done we scheduled the right one for September 9th. She was up and home the next day. She has been doing 3 weeks of outpatient therapy at Legacy of Centerville and is up walking, eating out at restaurants and attending the theater. I must say that Dr. Okafor is one of the best trained surgeon 's in this area . In addition to being a highly trained surgeon, he is a kind,warm,empathetic individual who really cares about his patients. If you are looking for an orthopedic surgeon you will not find a better one than Dr. Louis Okafor at Premier Health in Dayton, Ohio ...he is the BEST !!!

I had a total hip restoration this march. A 4 hour procedure. Dr. Okafor is wonderful and so am I now. I would take a bullet for this man.

Dr Okafor was very good about giving me all the infomation I needed to make an informed choice about my leg and how to treat it.

Dr. Okafor listened to my questions and answered them thoroughly. He understood how important getting back to my usual activities was. I have no problems with the complete surgery experience, and if need the other knee done he is only Dr. I would consider.

Dr. Okafor is the consummate professional and fantastic human. He is so thorough and treats those around him with utmost respect and care. The only minor complaint I have is not towards him but rather his assistants who at times may not provide the best follow through. I understand that there are many patients' needs that need to be met but the follow through can be better. I very much appreciate their and everyone's help, but it can be frustrating when I have to call and/or send messages in MyChart that is not answered in a timely manner.

Dr Okafor was very patient oriented and I felt he actually cared about me. He also took time to answer my questions and explain what he thought was going on.

My appointment was for 1530. The MD did not enter the exam room until 1655. My exam ended at 1708. While he apologized for being late, his reasoning was, "It is a busy clinic day." It is absolutely unacceptable to make any patient wait an hour and a half after their scheduled appointment time. There are multiple problem-solving options to avoid this situation, and none of them were completed for my visit. If the MD was running that far behind, office staff should have called me to ask me to come later, or to reschedule. Office staff could have alerted me, upon arrival, that he was running behind schedule and invited me to wait, or return closer to the approximated time he would be ready for me. Office staff could ensure the MD is aware of the time-lag between appointments so the MD can better time-manage during appointments. I am sure there are countless other options. I had to take sick-leave to go to this appointment when I could have easily completed my work day d/t his schedule running so late. While his office staff were very pleasant , they did not let me know he was running late until after I poked my head out of the exam room to ask if I had been forgotten. At that point, I had been waiting 45 minutes in paper shorts in an exam room. The MD was kind, informative, and apologetic. I do not blame him entirely for this failing of patient-care. I do know how PHP works, however, and this returns to the systemic issues of putting the $ over the patients. The ideals of "DO more with LESS." In the futured, a phone call prior to arrival letting the patient know the MD is running behind would be GREATLY appreciated. Either Premier needs to allow more time for appointments to ensure their MD's to take the time they need for their patients (patient centered care), or their MDs need to have the skill-set to inform patients who require more education / hand-holding that they have to cut their appointment off and schedule another to address all of their needs.

Dr. Okafor is my 3rd hip doctor and is every bit as good and nice as the previous 2 doctors. He is so polite, friendly, informative and a very nice person all around. I am so glad that he has agreed to accept me as a patient with two hip replacements to care for. Thank you, Doctor.

Dr Okafor was pleasant and professional and explained my knee problems extremely well. I will recommend him to all !

Dr. Okafor is one of the finest doctors I have ever seen. He listens carefully to what I say. He is compassionate and re-assuring. I never leave his office without feeling better and hopeful for my future. Please don't ever let him get away. Keep him happy.
