Dr. Louis Puppo, MD

Amazing doctor. He has been my kids' pediatrician since 2003 when we followed him from his previous practice in Fairfax. Dr Puppo is so smart, yet he understands that parents know our own children best. The best time to make an appointment is either 1st thing in the morning or 1st thing after lunch. Otherwise, he spends whatever amount of time is needed to service each patient -- which means sometimes he spends more time with people who need his attention, so he often runs late. Sometimes he'll take my kids on time but something comes up and we cause him to be late for other patients. It happens. That just means he's doing his job and not cutting the time short when his patients need him.

This doctor overbooks appointments. After visiting his office 3 times within a year, I decided to change doctor. My wait time average was 60 minutes in the waiting area and 15 additional minutes in the check-up room. Wait area is uncomfortable small, unkept, unfriendly and cold. Plain dirty walls, no toys for the little ones, no tv watch, no "elevator" music - very ordinary - careless. The doctor treats kids nice, but not the parents. Most parents in his clinic are minorities, and they way I witnessed him talking to them was downright rude. In ane occasion, I saw his treating his front desk lady snappy and rude in front of all of everyone. When I asked one of the moms there if he is like this all the time, her answer was "Yes, but he is good with the kids and therefore, I don't mind putting up with his attitude."

We really liked the doctor but they seem to really want money. When we moved out of town, we needed to get our records, they wanted $25 per child to get my childrens charts to be able to give it to their new pediatrician. im sorry but it does not cost them $25 to have them hand over my kids records.

He has been seeing my son beginning at the age of 5. Very compassionate and dedicated doctor. He has a great sense of humer and always made my son laught. He is now 13 years old

Completely amazing. He'sbeen with my oldest since she was born almost 4 yearsago and my youngest who is 4 months old. HHe'sthe best of the best . I don't even like to see ER doctors because Dr Puppo knows my girls!
