In 2013, I had reconstructive lower eyelid surgery to correct sclera show, canthal rounding and lagophalmous. Dr. Mawn impressed me with her knowledge of the problems I presented and I felt confident going forth. Upon awakening from surgery, I knew something went horribly wrong. I now had true ectropion. My eyes literally hung down at the corners. Even she said to me weeks afterward, "you look worse than you did before." Her surgery approach, transcutaneous, actually increased ectropion.

Dr. Mawn is extremely professional while also exhibiting warmth and caring about her patient. I never questioned her competency, was pleased with the surgical experience, and very happy with the results. While two other physicians in this practice came across as dismissive, Dr. Mawn was totally opposite. She recognized and respected my vision concerns and proceeded to schedule the surgery to correct the problem. I appreciate her expertise and have already recommended her to others.

As a doctor she is very good. There are three issue that I have found. Most frustrating is not being able to get a timley appt. In Sept '15 I called but the earliest I could get was early Feb 2016. #2 - I even offered to pay cash for an earlier appt and was told they don't accept cash. #3 - She also does not reply to messages through the Vanderbilt message system. I have called and emailed 3 times in the past 3 months and not one call or message was returned.
