Visit rushed,Dr didn’t even introduce himself……
Highly unprofessional to have a first time patient getting a physical and not introduce yourself as a provider, the visit was rushed.I WILL NOT BE SEEING HIM AGAIN!

I don't understand the negativity in these reviews
I recently moved to Charlotte and reached out to Tryon Medical Partners to establish a new primary care physician. They scheduled me with Dr. Bendezu. I was a little apprehensive after reading some of these reviews, but my experience has been good enough that I wanted to jump on here and combat some of the negativity. He seems very competent, answered all my questions, scheduled follow-up appts to review progress & test results, etc.. I can see how someone would feel like it's a rushed experience, but that's just the way the medical industry has gone overall... Tons of pressure to get through tons of patients. Can't blame the doc for that culture. I'd recommend him to friends & family without hesitation.

Not recommended
I chose Dr. Bendezu because he knows Spanish and the Tryon Medical office is nearby. I realized that his patient care and attention to the patient is not the best. Most of the negative reviews below are accurate, it does not seem that he truly cares and rushed doctor visits. I was able to switch to a different doctor after two years. I wish I would have switched sooner.

My Health Advocate
Dr. Bendezu is very professional, caring and knowledgeable. He is familiar with my health history and has reviewed my chart prior to my visits. He always takes the time to answer my questions and address any concerns that I have. He has been my primary care physician for years and i will continue to use him and Tryon Medical. His staff is also top notch.

Appointment Mistake
My worst appointment with a doctor: inconsiderate, impatient, non-sympathetic. I truly hope one day he gets the same treatment from his/her physician. He didn’t even want to listen to my problem. He wanted to leave the very same minute he walked into the room. He didn’t check my health history and he neither asked. When asking questions, he seemed condescending. Well, sir, you are the one with a medical degree not me. Also, maybe he should go back to medical school to get trained on how to interact with patients. I think he needs another career.

Very fast and superficial. Yearly physical lasts less than 4-5 min. Very rushed. Does not explain things well. Staff often unfriendly and non-cooperative.

Dr. Bendezu was extremely rude, not allowing me to explain even half of my symptoms. What I did have a chance to say was constantly interrupted. He prescribed me pain medicine that I did not need, as I was describing a symptom that was part of a broader issue, not an intense pain issue. On top of that, the medicine he prescribed me is dangerous to me based on medical history and instruction not to take the medicine after it landed me in the ER. I now have to go back to see another doctor because nothing was addressed in terms of my actual concerns. What a waste of time and money. I am not sure why he was in such a rush, but something was causing extreme lack of focus, maybe just plain arrogance.

Horrible bedside manner. Continually interrupted me the entire appointment, I was never able to get a word in edgewise. Rushed, didn’t look at my chart at all and was unaware of any of my prescriptions before prescribing something else. Also let me know that what I was concerned about “wasn’t an infection or id be dead by now”. So many doctors at Tryon medical listen and care- don’t see him.

Dr. Bendezu didn't wash his hands, stood with his arms crossed, pretended to listen to my lungs, and refused to complete a cervical cancer screen despite me being there for my annual exam. Dr. Bendazu was in the room for less than 5 minutes and charged my insurance $425 for a new patient appointment. I had to ask for appropriate labs. I later realized his score on HealthGrade is 3/5....I should've looked before accepting an appointment with him. Maybe the other providers are amazing but not Dr. Bendazu or assistant Arnold. Don't waste your money. Choose a different provider.

Dr. Bendezu staff will not refill my prescription for ALLERGY medicine because i refuse to schedule an appointment while the covid-BS is going on. He is looking for new patients and now i understand why. Doctors offices are becoming more political and less caring of the well being of there patients. you've lost another patient over ALLERGY medicine.

I'm 47 and have annual sinus issues, like many. I just took a 10-day course of antibiotics for a sinus infection. The prescribing guidelines indicate 10-14 days. My sinus infection is better, but not gone. Dr. Bendezu will not prescribe further antibiotics as a rule. He insists I see an ENT for what is now a mild sinus infection. Such rigid rules for patient care reveal an inability or an unwillingness to examine, diagnose, treat, or think of patients as individuals, instead of a "herd."

He seemed very angry at having to see me and gave me the impressions did not want to spend any time on me at all and made me wonder if he had a hot golf game waiting. He was very rude and cut off my answers to his questions before I was able to finish the first sentence. He referred me back to my primary care physician a week later to actually see me and the cut my visit short (even though I had an urgent situation). Waste of my time and waste of a stethoscope.
