Dr. Luis Contreras, MD

Dr. Contreras is the doctor you always hoped you'd find. He is thorough, concerned, knowledgeable, professional and follows through. His word is good! We have complete trust in him and value his direction and treatment as stellar. He has intervened over confusing or questionable treatment we have recieved with careful examination of all tests, meds, and symptoms. He goes far above and beyond for those in his care. Side note: the overview shone beliw this area describes a much older doctor with 57+ years experience. That is not the same doctor I am reviewing here.

He is by far the best my husband and I have ever had. We are 69 years old and over many years I’ve been through several. He is professional, through, extremely knowledgeable and above all caring! His office staff person Cheryl is just amazing - addressing our needs as far as questions, refills, ANY additional needs we might have. Oh & I forgot (for sure an added +) never in our almost 20 years as patients have we waited more than 10 min. in waiting room. But yet, he gives us his full attention for whatever time we need, whatever questions we might have… He is most EXCELLENT.

Dr. Contreras listens and takes time with his patients. I feel he sincerely cares about me as a person and wants me to feel at my very best. I’ve never felt dismissed, as I have with other physicians, and he encourages me to self-advocate with other doctors on my care team. I highly recommend Dr. Contreras. I am grateful to have found him as my primary care doctor.

My wife and I are patients of Dr. Contreras and are thoroughly satisfied. He is friendly, a good listener, asks questions , discusses your issues with you in a way that allows you to understand your concerns. When we leave we are confident in his diagnosis and the treatment provided. His staff is friendly and very efficient,

Dr. Contreras is a wonderful doctor. He gives you the time needed to go over concerns you have and follows up with further testing as needed. His office staff is wonderful as well. I feel so lucky to have him as my PCP.

Dr Contreras is wonderful & so are his employees. He explains things so you understand them. Spends as much time as needed with you. Treats you like family not just a patient.

I feel VERY lucky to have found Dr Contreras....his knowledge and response to critical issues is almost clairvoyant....he has literally saved my life, with a weekend diagnosis and immediate hospitalization....you are fortunate if you can have him as your PC.....the present Office staff , is probably the best he has had in 10 + years....its hard to work at a Dr's front desk , or patient care ... we all want Instant gratification...

It shocks me that his ratings aren't higher. You will never find another doctor in Hernando County, or the state of FL for that matter, who truly cares for his patients. He's been my doctor for about 10 years now, and I can't imagine ever wanting to replace him. He's smart, caring, and, best of all--he actually LISTENS to his patients. Can you imagine that? At a time when most physicians barely look you in the eye during your appointment, Dr. Contreras takes his time, does a thorough exam, and always make time for any questions you might have. I wish there was a 10-star rating I could give him!

He is the best doctor I have ever had! He is thorough, kind, attentive and does not rush you through your appointment. Staff is very professional and courteous.

I have a documented pain disorder initiated by surgery where they let the anesthesia wear off before the bone cauterization and bone transplant into my hand was completed. Dr. Contreras in his infinite wisdom thinks pain disorders are all in your head and don’t exist. There are not too many things worse than having pain like being electrocuted, except for having a doctor who doesn’t believe you.

Dr Contreras was over the top caring and knowledgeable. I take my 84 year old mother and father to him and I am impressed every visit. He listens and make thoughtful decisions in order to improve their health.

My 75 year old Mother is a patient of Dr. Contreras. Lately, especially as her need for good, quality health care has increased, his lack of compassion is coming to light. He is very arrogant and uncaring, almost to the point of being degrading. I live out of state but recently accompanied my mother to one of her appointments. When I questioned his reasoning on something, he asked, "are you an MD?". I was shocked at this sort of behavior from a so called health care professional.

Dr. Contreas is very throughly dr and is caring for his patients. I would recommend him to anyone!

My father has Dr. C for 8 yrs now. I met him personally recently when my Dad suddenly took ill. I have never met a more caring, professional and through Dr! He has been wonderful helping our family make decisions about Dads care. Our family cannot say enough about him!!!! He his Dads angel on earth!!!!
