Dr T has performed 2 minimally invasive surgeries on different sections of my spine, 7 years apart. Both surgeries were 100% successful. I'm a 50y old dad with an active family and Dr T gave me my life back and I'll be forever grateful. I recommend Dr Tumialan and his entire team to everyone. They are professionals to the highest degree.

Best spine surgeon, unparalleled!
I had a laminectomy with fusion in 2012 and was pain free in a short amount of time. I had a transposas surgery in 2019 and had immediate relief; had another surgery in 2021 and was pain free the next day. Dr Tumialan always had time to explain my problems and options. I’ve never met a more caring or humble dr. Other drs I have seen being an orthopedic, pain dr & physical therapist all concur that he is exceptional! I am so grateful for all he has done to give me an excellent physical quality of life!

New Lease on Life
I had Dr. Tumialan fuse my L5/S1 approximately eight years ago. I thought I was going to be disabled the rest of my life. The surgery gave me total pain free movement and a new lease on life. I am still pain free and doing quite well at 70 years old. Thank You!

First Class Service
Dr. Tumialan and his staff were extremely professional and caring when I had a fusion of L4L5 in December of 2021. I can't believe how quickly I recovered, which was a result of Dr. Tumialan's experience and skill. In addition, any time I called, I promptly got answers to my questions. Having had back surgery before with a different surgeon, I can't begin to express what a relief it was to be in such competent hands.

After having been in a car accident and receiving multiple treatments for severe back pain that only gave me temporary relief, I sought a consultation with Dr. Tumialan. After examination and a diagnosis of Spondylolisthesis, Dr. Tumialan recommended a Minimal Invasive Lumbar Fusion which I had now 5 weeks ago. All through the pre-op process, he explained the procedures clearly. Even though I was pretty nervous the day of the surgery, Dr. Tumialan was right there reassuring me with confidence and a "Team Approach" that made the pre-op process flawless. Now that I have begun recovery, I can tell the pain is completely gone and I am able to live my life without back pain. The hourly back "popping" is no longer. Finally, I had just moved to Scottsdale from the NY area, and my initial instinct was to seek treatment back east, however, after the consultation and personal research, I knew Dr. Tumialan was going to be my surgeon. Many thanks to Dr. Tumialan and the staff at Barrow group.

Dr. Tumialan is the most humble, caring considerate doctor with an amazing bedside manner of any doctor I’ve ever met. God totally blessed Dr. Tumialan with amazing mine and hands. He has done two surgeries on me the first one I was in so much pain I couldn’t sit, stand. Right after the surgery there was no pain. He doesn’t push for surgery only as a last resort.

If I lived in NY or Maine, I would travel to Scottsdale for back surgery. One of the finest men you will meet in this or any other field. Caring, knowledgable, good at his work. Won't push unnecessary procedures.

There are not enough great words to express how amazing Dr Luis Tumialan is. I had a previous surgery in 2015 from a different surgeon that left me in constant daily pain. I had consultations with many surgeons who were unsure of what was causing my pain. Dr Tumialan was able to zero in on my problem on the first visit. His first option was not surgery however surgery became necessary. Dr Tumialan’s magic hands have changed my life. I never thought I would be pain-free again but I am.

I would give him and his staff 10 stars if possible. He is skilled and personable. If I knew I would feel this good post-op, I would have gone to him sooner instead of hobbling around in pain for years. All well. Better late than never! Thanks Dr T!

Dr. Tumialan team is amazing. I was living with pain for over 10 years and when my pain management provider said it was time to look and get evaluated by a surgeon. After meeting him, I was still scared but I felt I was in the best hands and now 3 months after back surgery I find myself better then I started. He is very caring and supportive with ecery step and staff is truly sweet and helpful.

Incredible!!! Dr. Tumialan is a great Nuerosurgeon. Not very often are you meeting a surgeon that will be operating on you that same day, however in this circumstance it was vital. Dr. Tumialan has great bedside manner, though it was a very tense and scary situation he eased our mind with his knowledge and confidence and gave us the peace of mind that my husband would walk after surgery. It will be a long journey to recovery but we are on our way. Thank you!

He spent time listening to my symptoms and did a thorough exam. He ordered a test that the Ortho spine docs didn't. He based his treatment on tests and my symptoms. Very kind and courteous Doctor.. He inspires confidence. My L5-S1 fusion has been an easy recovery. He really cares and wants to help. There is no need to fear if you are in his hands! Thank you Dr. T.

I was in a motorcycle accident in July, 2016. Dr. Tumialan performed emergency neurosurgery to save my life. I am just now having surgery next week to attach my bone flap that had to be removed - almost 11 months without my left bone flap.. He has been very compassionate toward me and my family. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I am a retired VP of Sales for a major spinal surgery device company, and have access to surgical competency information from Phoenix area nurses, PAs, and spinal device sales reps which is unavailable to the general public. After much research, I chose Dr. Tumialan to perform my L4-L5 microdiscetomy last week. Dr. Tumialan is perhaps the most caring, most competent spine surgeon that I have ever met. His skills in micro-spine surgery are unprecedented. Best spine surgeon in the valley!

Beware! Charged $310 to review a MRI and then sent my wife to another Doctor for 2 epidural injections. $6,000 later and after more suffering, no improvement. This guy is only interested in his outlandish FEE. Billing indicated he could have charged $600 for the consultation. So, make sure your insurance will pay your "consultation" fee before you commit!
