Horrible Continuation of Care - No Follow Up
I had to have an aneurysm coiled a few years ago, and Dr. Vaca was the Interventional Radiologist I was referred to as one of the only specialists that could do it. The procedure went fine, but his interactions with me afterwards at the hospital while I was in ICU were very short and brisk. He was not personable at all! And, he never followed up with me after my discharge! So, basically, he did brain surgery on me and never even followed up to make sure I was ok! I do know that doctors are supposed to follow up with patients after these procedures to make sure everything is good and there are no residual affects. With this type of procedure I should have had follow up testing annually to make sure the aneurysm was still fully coiled. He did none of that. He actually disappeared! I tried calling his office number multiple times and there was no answer and no voicemail to leave a message. I eventually gave up and went to another doctor to have my follow up care.
