Dr. Luke Baxley Jr, MD

I went into Beaufort Memorial yesterday due to blood pressure readings at stroke level. Within 45 minutes I was placed in an emergency room bed, and Dr. Baxley was in to see me shortly afterward. He presented a concern and understanding of my current issues, talked with me in a manner that was easily comprehended, and told me what he planned to do to lower my blood pressure as quickly as possible. When the initial dosage, in an IV port, didn't lower it he prescribed another medication and conferred with my nephrologist in order to solve my issue. He came in and explained the plan in place and changed my blood pressure medication. I was relieved to have had the care he and his nurse, Samantha, carried forth, and I was able to be released. My blood pressure this morning reflected a drop of 112 points from this time yesterday. I am grateful for their care while there, and I praise their hard work and commitment.

I found myself in the Beaufort Memorial Hospital Emergency Unit for the first time in my long life with a critical issue that Dr. Baxley addressed with obvious experience and competence. In addition, he was most amiable (considering that it was 3 AM) and put me at ease immediately. Needless to say, I am grateful that he was performing emergency services on the night that I needed him.

My visit today (01-02-2020) at the BMH was very good because of Dr Baxley. He is a definition of what a doctor means regarding a doctor-patient relationship. He is professional, listen and ask questions very attentively, have this warmth look in his face and a bright smile. As soon I saw him I recognized him from my past experience and I know I was in good hands and could be at ease, trusting the whole process. My 5 star ER visit in Dec 2019 was a very positive experience in part due to Dr Baxley's positive demeanor, his medical honesty, and warm interpersonel skills and his applied knowledgeable medical skills. I would definitely see him again as my ER medical/private physician.
