Dr. M Dathan Chesnut, MD

It seems I am often texting Dr Chestnut with one concern or another. He ALWAYS answers ASAP & gives me advice I need. Recently my husband had to have shoulder surgery. He greatly helped by recommending a wonderful surgeon. To visit Dr. Chestnut, is like visiting a friend. He is thorough, suggests tests or procedures when necessary; but does it in such a way that it is your decision to move forward or not. In our opinion, Dr. Chestnut is TOPS!

Dr. Chesnut is thorough and takes as much time as I want to discuss matters. He is always almost immediately available to respond to emails and to provide meaningful guidance when an office visit is not required. He is unfailingly pleasant.

Since 5 years ago I walked into the Westport office I have been seen by this magnificent doctor. Being a 90 year old MD I can attest to this experience as professionals like me are sometimes not the easiest patients. I have complex cardiovascular conditions which need careful analysis and referrals to specialists, one of the many strength this physician has. I had a splendid experience with his referral vascular surgeon (ICA sinistra endarterectomy). Always, Dr. Chesnut was available to guide me through the postoperative phase. He is there to ensure my medications are up to snuff. He always tries to text me or call me back immediately when either I or my wife has a health problem. He always is patient with us and maintains his wits over the odds. His care enables me still to ski at my age. Dr. Chesnut deserves my highedt respect and enthusiastic recommendation. Time and time again, whether it be with a virus, infection, or serious illness, Dr. Chesnut has been instantly helpful and ready to go an extra mile to ensure I get the treatment I need.

It’s so wonderful to have a doctor who cares, who listens to what we have to say and who is always available. I’m just sorry we didn’t join with Dr. Chesnut sooner. I recommend him most highly.

Dr. Chestnut returns calls promptly and is always available. I never have to wait more than a couple of minutes when I visit his office. Always spot on with his diagnosis and great with follow up. Would highly recommend him.
