Rude team
It is clear that the culture in the office isn’t healthy. They are rude and condescending. The doctor is clearly ok with that, and the office is ran like a meat market. In and out. Zero beside manor. With so many reviews saying the same thing, it is crystal clear it is accepted practice.

Office staff is horrible. They are condescending and not flexible. They dont offer any early AM or late afternoon appointments and when you run out of vacation time cant do a follow up appt that can be handled by phone (even though that's not even needed) they drop you as a patient. Prepare yourself to be made fun of and talked down to. Make sure you are available for 10am-3pm appointments only and leave yourself 30-45min wait time to be seen. This is what you can expect when visiting this office. I will say Barhoun himself is very good, he's direct so some do not find they like his style as a result but he knows what he's doing. I just cant deal with his staff. I tried but I cant do it anymore.

Disgusting
This man is absolutely disgusting. After every time my partner said something about his condition he huffed and puffed. Lacked basic knowledge on common medical conditions. Was extremely arrogant and rude. Wrote my perscriptions but then told us to find another doctor. Never going back again.

advance knowledge of insulin pumps.exceptional !
Comprehensive: For patience convenience, he had partners visit us in his office. Nutritionist worked w/ famous athletes & people which intimidated me at first. But partners too were highly knowledgeable about customizing treatment to unique lifestyles. Partners delivered individualized care like Dr. Barhoum. Although Dr. Barhoum sometimes appears disconnected, because he is ultra professional, he is hand on & delivers effective & meaningful collaboration with his partners. He has intel of all data in an effort to provide a holistic approach to diabetes management. Pump manufacturers love him because he has advance knowledge of the capabilities & benefits as well as the weaknesses of all pumps. I love food, I hate exercising & I love all foods. As an effective partner in your healthcare team, he provides assessments so he can identify sources of motivations. Highly recommended!

Disappointed
I would just recommend staying away from this practice. After being a patient for many years I was treated like i was a bad person. Never had another doctors office make me feel as they had. My care was adequate in my years as a patient- I trusted Dr. Barhoum and was very disappointed in the way they do business.

Though Dr. Is very capable, I'd hesitate to recommend him, simply because he can be quite coarse, curt, or 'in a mood' for no seeming reason. I ignore it, but others may reasonably expect civility and a professional demeanor.

After my Whipple surgery I went from type 2 diabetic to type 1. The hospital doctors highly recommend that I see a endocrinologist. I made an appointment with Dr. Maan Barhoum. The visit was quite pleasant. Dr. Maan Barhoum was very knowledgeable, informative and very patient with explaining everything. He suggested using a GCM (glucose continuous monitor). That way I can get a better handle on my glucose level without finger sticks. The staff educated me how to use the GCM I was interested in. Dr. Barhoum gave me a list of web sites and apps to check out regarding diabetes. They are very useful. The staff was very professional, courteous and pleasant. If anyone needs help with getting better control of their diabetes, I would highly recommend Dr. Maan Berhoum.

Go there every 3-4 months for the last few years. Wasn’t fond of him in the beginning but that’s because he made me own my diabetes. I appreciate everything he has done to make it easier to handle this burden of being T1 diabetic. He understands and was able to congratulate me for taking care of myself but has no problem letting me know where I need to correct or watch. I absolutely love his staff. They are very kind and helpful and so friendly!!

Best Dr. in his field. Able to correctly diagnose others overlooked.Honest and frank about everything he says & feels. 100% confidence in treatment and recommendations. He is one of many exceptional specialists I see, but he is the #1 doctor who has saved my life and health. I have seen him since 2010 and every year since, on my birthday I owe him thanks for still being alive, happy, and better health. If you insist on a dr. who comes in smiling, shaking your hand-dont see him. He respects patients who educate themselves and are prepared. And also, HE ACTUALLY DOES SMILE AND SHOWS HIS HAPPINESS, when you followed his advice and the outcome is positive. IF you want to improve YOUR HEALTH and lifestyle, this is only doctor to see in his field. Cheers, to him and all his patients, Patricia

referred to Dr. Barhoum by my primary care physician. This Dr. was so rude & nasty right out of the gate. He came in the room sort of arrogant His responses to us were nasty. He acted like he was upset with us in some sort of way. He played down my health issues. He told us that he didn't work for Condell or part of the Advocate Group. He appeared to get angry at the thought of being part of Condell or the Advocate group. Voice was raised. I don't think we'll be back to see him. He really need to work on his disposition and how he communicates to patience seeking his advice/assistance. He is not the only Endocrinologist in the pot. Just nasty. His responses were defensive and nasty, nasty, nasty. Change your attitude Dr. Maan Barhoum. Not impressed, not happy...…..

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Barhoum’s for at least 7 years. If you’re looking for a doctor who will sugar-coat a diagnosis, he’s not the doctor for you. However, if you want an intelligent, knowledgeable and no nonsense physician, then I strongly recommend him. He carefully reviews blood work, and explains the results, asking if there are any questions or concerns. His office staff is cordial, helpful and remembers the patients. I feel very confidant with him.
