Hard to talk to
Hard to talk to doesn't listen to the patient and seems to care about no one else except himself and does whatever easiest for him including putting false information in your medical record when it's easier for him.

Dr. Poltorak is excellent. He has been my Neurologist since 2006. I will admit there were some trust issues in the begining. But by receiving great feedback from 2nd opinion Neurologist and patients, I entrust Dr. Poltorak with confidence on my health.

My chiropractor suggested I see a neurologist after 3 treatments. I went to Dr Poltorak and after performing inoffice tests ordered a lumar puncture, MRI EEG and nerve conduction series. The LP indicated I had MS. The MRI showed a lesion in an unusual area. He referred me to a specialist at Georgetown University. After 3 MRI's and other tests he concluded I had MS. He then left for another job. At this point I went back to Dr Poltorak since I saw him first and was much closer to where I lived. He had ordered another MRI, EEG, nerve conduction studies and other tests before putting me on MS drug therapy. This to show the insurance company which will try to fight the diagnosis. It also shows the integrity of Dr Poltorak by not fully relying on another's diagnosis. I most likely have MS because I exhibit multiple signs. I definitely have nerve damage in my arms and hands and possibly my legs. I'm happy to be back with Dr Poltorak as he is very personable and spends a lot of time with me

Went to him in May 2017. Took my bp it was high. I explained to him I have White coat & anxiety & tachycardia at doctors office. Brought my Primary doctor diagnoses & my bp & heart rate from home. I see a cardiologist every year for 2 years now Dr. Poltorak told me I'm going to havevavheart attack I'm too young. He does the testing & says he think I have ms. He said get nerve test before the mri, I did the mri first. My PcP had to get my results after I've tried for a month. My mri Was normal.

I would not send my WORST ENEMY to this incompetent. I went there to check on possible nerve damage; his first comment was "you're really nervous." DUH, you think? What a STUPID statement. Later, while testing me (I'm in pain, raising my stress level), says "you're REALLY anxious"-stressing me even more. His final idiotic gem was: "At your anxiety level, you're in danger of a stroke!" (His own tests later showed I have no risk of stroke.) He also does not respect personal space. STAY AWAY!
