Best Opthalmologist in Philadelphia and Beyond
Dr. Ewing is extraordinarily careful in her examination, displays total competence, and takes the time needed to get the job done. On top of that she has a good sense of humor and an excellent bedside manner. My wife and I were her patients during the late 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s, when we lived in Philadelphia. We have never found anyone better!

This woman is an old-school, remarkably lovely, approachable, patient-focused sweetheart. Don't be fooled-she is also wildly intelligent and has a superlative bedside manner. Not a single reservation about her level of care. We have seen 12 diff. specialists in the last 3 weeks (my 85-year-old friend has a very serious and very complicated condition) - Dr. Ewing lives and breathes empathy and intelligence and compassion. I don't remember a doctor ever spending this much time on a pt! TopDoc!

I had a very painful eye last evening and called the office of my opthamologist. The physician on call was Dr. Madeleine Ewing. She was extraordinary, advising me to come there right away, meeting me at the gate, which already had been locked, giving me a long and thorough examination that revealed that I had a self-inflicted tear in my right eye, providing me with an antibiotic ointment and calling in a prescription with my pharmacy. Talk about dedication to one's profession!

Dr. Ewing is a very intelligent and dedicated doctor. She truly cares about her patients. I have been going to her for many years and look forward to my visits. I know that my eyes are being examined by one of the best ophthalmologists in the Philadelphia area.
