Always worth the wait
Dr. Patel's office is always very busy but he takes the time to explain things to my mom. I appreciate that kind of attention at a doctor's office.

Good luck with them keeping an appt
If you ever want to see a dr, I wouldn't go here. Cancelled my appointment and rescheduled me a month later. Arrived for the rescheduled appointment and 5 minutes in the waiting room they call me up and inform me he is an hour or so behind schedule. Files were stacked up on the counters so clearly they are disorganized in many ways besides scheduling. I told the girl of the horrible reviews and she didn't seem to care. I wouldn't waste my time with this place. They could have called me before driving there to tell me how behind he was.

Absolutely Horrible
Absolutely horrible, my dad has cancer and struggles to even get out of bed. We were informed the doctor was an hour behind and to come a little later. We get called 45 minutes later and they tell us they're cancelling the appointment and there's nothing they can do. Won't do anything to help us and we're just out of luck. Do not go to this doctor, there's a reason the reviews are the so low

Dr. Patel: Worst possible GI Doctor to go too! Been hospitalized twice while under his care. Had appointments scheduled weeks in advance, canceled by the doctor on day of appointment, and then rescheduled two months later. If you manage to actually get a appointment with him he doesn't talk to you to offer solutions, but instead trys to finish the appointment as soon as he can. If you call the office to ask the Dr about your concerns with your issue or medication, they will not followup regarding your concerns. DO NOT be a patient for Dr. Patel.

I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience was not great. I have only been to his office once, and have decided I will not be going back. I waited over 90 minutes to see Dr. Patel in his office. We discussed my situation for about a minute, then he seemed happy to dismiss me. I was the one to bring up his previous concerns, including the cultures, and tests that were taken. At the mention of these concerns, he tells me that I must have him confused with another Doctor. I know that I was not confused because I had written his name down after I initially met him. He had been the specialist that I was required to see before being discharged from the hospital. I specifically remember waiting for him for 2 days. I specifically remember his bedside manner being dry and impersonable. I had to ask questions as he seemed to be very busy and in a rush. He was not very explanatory. I cannot speak to his diagnosing ability or treatment, as I experienced neither. I do not suggest Dr.Patel.

Can I give zero stars? His bedside manor is the worst ever experienced. He doesnt care how much pain you are in. He just wants to get paid and go on vacation. He should be ashamed and has no problem violating the hippocratic oath. Be warned!

Stacked appointments, crowded waiting room for one doctor. He laughed when I told him that I was feeling anxious and uncomfortable. Contradicted me when I spoke. Condescending attitude. I'm female and was alone at the appointment.

My daughter was at Simi Valley Hospital for almost week to have her gallbladder out. She was supposed to be released on the Saturday after her surgery (surgery was Wednesday). We were waiting for his approval to let her leave and he never showed up over the weekend. It’s monday at 6:05 pm and she still hasn’t been released because Dr Patel hasn’t shown up!! She’s a teenage girl who has been through so much and being stuck in a hospital because a doctor doesn’t feel like showing up.

I'm very surprised to see lower ratings for Dr Patel. Dr Patel has been my GI doctor for 5+ years. He treats me for ulcerative colitis, including during pregnancy. He is always very thorough without making me feel panicked when something is off (such as blood test results). He is very understanding and takes his time explaining answers to all my questions (once even drawing me a picture for clarity). I would recommend him to friends and family every time!

This is probably the worst Dr I have ever seen. He really doesn't care about his patients at all. Waiting months for appointment. Tests for one thing. If that's negative. Forget looking elsewhere. Begging for tests. Waiting months. After test waiting weeks for results. Email results with no explanation. Finally an appointment and given otc drugs. How about doing that in first place. Suffered for nothing. Maybe not malpractice but certainly zero care. If it was serious, I would be dead!

Dr. Patel was recommended to me by the former head of the hospital GI dept. I can see why. He was very knowledgeable and through. He accommodated my request to go through a colonoscopy with no meds. He was very skilled and there was very little discomfort and I was able to go right back to work. I would highly recommend Dr. Patel.

I am so surprised to see the average to negative ratings for Dr. Patel. He has always been patient answering my questions and explaining details about my visit to his office. As for his front office, they have always been pleasant. If I were to find any fault with the office staff it is that a couple times, follow through on requesting a new medication to my insurance company has been slow. Other than that, I am very pleased with the service I have received.
