Not interested in mental health
Dr. Shehata did a C&P exam for me and wasn't interested at all in listening to me. He would ask questions, I would answer, and he would write down something completely different than what I said. I know this because he would read me what he was writing. I eventually gave up fighting him and just left feeling even worse. This man should not be allowed near anyone with mental health issues.

This guy is licensed? What a joke. He wanted to put me on an SSRI the moment I walked in the door and when I said I might try it, he wrote the script with an ear to ear smile. He answered 2 phone calls during the appointment and while we talked, never addressed anything I had to say. Maybe the reason he's so quick to get an appointment with is that nobody wants to work with him. Every other psychiatrist I've rang is booked to the gills

Dr. Shehata has pretty terrible interpersonal and psychosocial counseling skills, which is really unfortunate since he's in mental health. I felt very judged by him, both in terms of my identities and coping strategies for mental health. I only went to him because OSU refers patients out to him because you get in fast. I decided to just go for the meds, but often left feeling worse about myself.

The guy answers phone calls in the middle of sessions. He refused to tell me my diagnosis until I was hooked up on a cocktail of medications. I had to switch over to a new doctor because of insurance, and the guy wasn't even interested in having the records from the previous doctor. He treats you like an idiot.

Rude disinterested. I was on a high dose of paxil and he ended that to start a low dose of something else. He didn't think to wean me off of the paxil first. The withdrawl was excruciating so I tried to contact him and he was unavailable. I couldn't get an appointment any time soon so I was forced to see my primary who got me through the crisis. When I finally got an appointment with shehata, he got offended that I had gone to someone else and refused to see me as a patient any longer.

I genuinely believe this doctor harmed me by putting me on inappropriate medications that the drug companies were pushing to him. Every doctor I have had since (including the ones in the hospital, which I believe I had to go to b.c of him) could not believe how I had been treated. I hope more people are not harmed by him just b/c he can get you in fast.

Dr. Shehata has a very good understanding of his patients and their conditions. I haven't had any reservations discussing any issues with him and he has been able to schedule me around my work schedule for my appointments. The prescriptions he has authorized have been working well for me. He is very thorough explaining my condition and treatment.
