Dr. Maike Blaya, MD

Had the opportunity to visit with Dr. Blaya. What a breath of fresh air, she actually took the time to thoroughly explain what I was feeling but further more she went and got medical books to show and explain what was happening and why. There was no rush in her visit and before any decisions were made she gave me multiple options to choose from with no undo pressure. Absolutely recommend Dr. Blaya a total professional

Dr Blaya will weaponize your history of mental health issues (for example: SI, depression, etc) no matter on how long ago it was, she will continue to say that is why you are having migraines and is unwilling to understand that the pain was the cause of it. While, yes, she does recommend certain treatments and medications, she will also judge you based on your appearance. If you don't smile enough, inflect, have your hair perfect, dress a specific way, etc., she will bring up any mental health issues you had and blame that. This is not a safe doctor for neurodiverse or gender nonconforming individuals (especially ASD/Adhd). The medications that have worked- I had to research and ask to try.

I have called multiple times, it has been over 1 month since my appointment and I am still unable to schedule a follow up. I waited over an hour for a telehealth appointment, just to see the PA. The PA working was very helpful and informative and I highly recommend him but I have been unable to even get through to the nurse or Dr. in order to schedule any sort of follow up for the new medications.

dr. blaya was the nicest person i can ever meet. she spoke to me throughly and answered all the questions i have. i would recommend her to a million people if i could. also the office staff WOW amazing, they were extremely helpful and nice when i came in. i wouldn’t my neurologist for anything!

Although it took a long time to get an appointment with Dr. Blaya, it was well worth the wait. I have lived with Migraines for 35 years, and they got really bad recently. I was having two to three 2-day headaches a week and was miserable. Over the decades I have taken very pill under the sun, and nothing worked. Dr. Blaya spent over an hour with me in our initial visit, and she gave me a sample of an injectable drug. Worked like a charm. She gave me another free one a month later, and with the help of the Memorial Hospital pharmacy, I got enrolled in a program where I can continue to get it for free. In the last 60 days I have only had 2 migraines, compared with the 21 I had the previous 60 days. Im so grateful to Dr. Blaya. She gave me my life back!

Dr. Blaya was fantastic. She is an excellent listener, as well as problem solver. I had been plagued by excruciating headaches for two months prior to my visit. Another neurologist told me he had no idea what was causing my headaches. Dr. Blaya wrote down everything I reported, including the timeline and drugs that I has been prescribed, but couldn't tolerate. She offered me hope that the issue would eventually fully resolve, wrote a prescription for medication that might help, and explained the possible down side of taking said medication, and gave me a way to communicate with her after hours. She is a brilliant physician, with a kind and compassionate approach to her patients.

I have had the best experience with Dr. Maike Blaya. She is an excellent Neurologist, she is personable and warm, caring and attentive, thorough but not an alarmist. I found her to be vastly knowledgeable about all aspects of my condition. It took me two months to get an appointment with her, but it was even longer with other Neurologist in Broward County. She had the results of my CT Scan , previously ordered by my Family Doctor, she was very precise with her diagnosis and made the time to see me in her office the following day for a physical evaluation. Thanks to her, two weeks later I was in the hands of an great Cardiologist.

Dr. Blaya is both an exceptional doctor and a tireless and devoted advocate. Thanks to her and her wonderful team, especially IJ and Katya, I have found relief from my daily chronic migraines. Dr. Blaya takes the time to really get to know her patients and she offers them both her compassion and expertise. She will go that extra mile for you. I wish all doctors were like her!

I have lived with migraines all my life and I finally found a doctor who can help me !! She discuss several treatment options with me and she took all the time with me. Very nice and knowledgeable doctor and Her office staff are excellent too!

Dr. Blaya has been my savior in grace. She took the time and energy and patience to find out how to control my massive migraines. In fact she is so good I followed her from when she was my original neurologist in New Orleans when she relocated to Miami. Her bedside manner is fantastic. She cares about her patients and their wellbeing and truly wants them to have the best quality of life possible. It has taken many years to control my migraines and I am forever grateful to Dr Blaya for everything

I had an appointment schedule for more then a month,due to swelling and pain on the back of my head. Today they called 10 mins before my appt to confirm and I said yes on my way. I arrived 13mins late and they said that Dr Blaya couldn't see me because she had a meeting to go to, if I wanted to be seen I had to wait after 12:30 when her meeting was done. Told the secretary that was not right b/c the dr was not putting the patient first I left crying and helpless b/c I really needed to be seen.

Very nice Doctor ! Took her time to listen and explain. Very nice staff. Highly recommend her!
