The care I received from Dr. Rao was exceptional. He answered any and all questions I had, prepared me for the treatments and side effects I would experience.

On time for appointments. Well prepared with advance review of test results. Thoroughly explained radiation treatment and long term plan. He showed genuine concern for my health and well being. Dr Rao and all the nurses and support staff are aware of every patient and treat everyone as family. I unfortunatley have had a lot interaction with cancer, two wives, multiple family members and friends have succumbed. I completely believe after drugs and procedures that attitude is a very important to conquer all cancers. After getting several opinions about my prostate cancer, I chose Dr. Rao for treatment. I had some options and he helped me chose what I felt was best for me. He is caring and friendly and has a calming effect. I felt very comfortable under his care. His staff is also the best.

Dr. Rao is very knowlegeable with regard to radiaton therapy for the treatment of prostate cancer. He listened to my concerns about the treatment and to the research I had done regarding the types of treatment for prostate cancer. He checked out the research and communicated his thoughts so that i was able to understand his persective. He designed a treatment protocol that was accepable to me in light of my age and health and that would accomplish the goal of ridding the cancer.Dr. Rao and the staff at the Barnabus cancer center were always concerned about my progress and always insured that I was doing well and always answered all of my questions as the treatment progressed. I highly recommend Dr. Rao and the Barnabus cancer center.

I had many visits with Dr. Rao in preparation for radiation treatment. He took additional time to review my testing, went out of his way to obtain and compare results from previous physicians, and explained his rationale and process to my complete satisfaction. Dr. Rao is very knowledgeable and compassionate with cancer patients and ease out my anxiety and stress not only with me but also with my family. His approach was based on having a good background of being a Doctor of Pharmacy first before being a Doctor of Medicine specializing on Radiation Oncology. A weekly follow up update us of any problem and immediate action is really appreciated. The Radiation Oncology Department and Staff are equally compassionate and showed superior knowledge of what they are doing. My sincere appreciation to Dr Malay Rao and Staff. Highly recommended . I am very impressed with Dr. Rao. He has been thoughtful and caring through diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. His knowledge and bedside manner are excellent. He has shown the willingness, ability, and patience to explain and clarify all aspects of my treatment. I found this extremely reassuring. I have had similar experiences in my interactions with all members of his office staff and believe the caring and positive attitudes in the office are beneficial to patients. I know that it has been beneficial to me, and made a very difficult situation much more bearable. I wish to thank them for their empathy and care!

I can't sing the praises about my experience with RWJB Radiation Oncology Dept. From my 1st day with Renee R & Marisa L at my simulation through 44 days with Raeann M, Francesca R, & Alyssa G as my Radiation Therapists. Everyone went above and beyond to assist me; they exceeded my expectations. The staff treated me with respect and dignity. Dr. Rao and Annie Z always available to explain procedures and answer all my questions and concerns.
