Dr. Malek Kanama, MD

Dr. Kanama was a life saver for my hubby. My hubby was rushed to the ER and Kanama became his surgeon. He laid out the plan, we asked questions, and he was confident in his plan and executed it perfectly. He removed 2 ft of intestines and the right side of his colon, due to a softball sized abscess in his stomach. He was able to put him back together without a bag. He was truly a blessing for us!

I had to have emergency surgery because of diverticulitis. I needed to have a temporary stoma and wore a colostomy bag for five months. Dr. Kanama saved my life & I’m forever grateful for him and his team.

Great doctor. Had emergency surgery for ruptured hernia. Have to have second surgery in 2 months and will use him again. Highly recommend.

It is seeming impossible to make an appt, calling every day, some twice a day only to be sent to voicemail. Left multiple messages for days for a required week follow up appt from a provider not listed with this groups surgery but seems to work with them, for infection and possible removal of drains. When I called last week I was told they don’t see patients in office only hospital, when my family member was seen in hospital for the surgery eventually the hospital now tells me yes they do have a clinic. Which one is it? I’ve been given 2 different location addresses from the hospital and there is conflicting ste number for this same address... she needs to be seen Friday and I had to reach out to her oncologist yesterday about the situation and now today I will be reaching out to the hospital. The lack of communication by this new provider in the hospital was not good as well, tests not ordered etc when they should have been. Discharge order details were missing and lacking left in.

When I found out that I have to have surgery I became very concerned and scared about it. Even on my first visit to the surgeon I was very nervous. I never in a hospital before except to visit other people. It was not until I met Dr Malex Kanama and his staff that I felt much comfortable. As Dr Kanama was talking and clearly explaining everything to me then my comfort level was better and and better. Dr Kanama thank you for your professionalism and caring way in taking care of me. Dr kanama is very good and very knowledgeable. He used all resources available at his disposal to treat me. He answered all my questions and was very patient with me.
