I Can't Get Past Scheduling
In early October I made an appointment for November 15th. On November 13th I received a call and was told the technician had unexpectedly called out for the morning of the 15th. I was told they would call me back to reschedule my appointment. On November 14th I called them and asked to reschedule. During this call I was told that their hours had actually changed two weeks ago and they were no longer seeing patients in the morning. I was offered a new appointment in the afternoon in February 2024. So, I guess the story about the technician was not true? I was told they would call me back during the noon hour to reschedule my appointment earlier than February. Shocker... no call again. So, I called Loveless and made an appointment with a different doctor for December. My old Neurologist, Mark Berger, retired and this doctor took over his practice. Dr. Berger's staff was great. Dr. Gurule's staff is not.Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time waiting for an appointment here.

He is always so quick with his visits. Barely explains what’s going and doesn’t answer questions that are asked. He dances around the answers. But bills for full visits when he shouldn’t! They never answer the phone or call back. When you share your concerns he makes excuses and doesn’t take responsibility for their lack of professionalism. It’s unfortunate that I have to see him because we don’t have other options.

suffered a seizure waiting for Med Refill Req.
I put in a request for a prescription refill with the Doctor, and after finishing my medication and going through my emergency refill, I still didn’t get my medication refill request sent through. I hagggled the office (both over the phone and in person), and the receptionists told me they would tell the doctor when was available. I felt so helpless when I left the office and the receptionists couldn’t even find a sample dose for me. After being off my meds for two days, I had a seizure… and the same day is when my prescription request was fulfilled… Nobody should have to wait a week to get their refill request for a dire medication fulfilled.. it is insulting and dehumanizing.

Impossible to contact
Was hospitalized and doctors tried to contact Dr.Gurule. Couldn't do it. I need to cancel an appointment. Called again today. Was told by taped message that office opens at 8. Called at 8. Then told office closed " call back during regular office hours". Phones are turned on at 9. Called at 9:30. Was told phones were off for the lunch hour. Also told by my primary that they had been trying to reach Dr. Gurule for over a month now. Calls not answered or returned.

Wow incompetent
If I could give a zero I would. They are incompetent and will constantly place you on hold and hang up on you. No one in the office knows what is going on and will never get back to you.

If i could give 0 stars I would. I received a concussion at work and this was the first dr i could get into (almost 2 months later). I have a history of long lasting concussions with debilitating symptoms and this was just that. While dealing with this concussion, i was diagnosed with ehlers danlos syndrome (eds) and found info on how this could cause easier and more long lasting concussions. He knew nothing about eds and was not open to learning about the information. When i hit 3 months of ongoing debilitating symptoms (dizziness, spatial awareness issues, short term memory, balance issues, etc.), he told me that my concussion should be better by now and these symptoms were no longer due to a concussion. Instead they were due to anxiety and depression…He cleared me to go back to work full time despite not being safe to drive which he also cleared me to do. My symptoms are not fake and post concussive syndrome can last months or years based on medical research. Highly do not recommend this doctor. He does not listen and when he doesn’t know the answer he just dismisses the problems.

He's a quack plain and simple. He pretends to perform EMGs that don't find anything, but when pressed with queries like "I just had a legitimate EMG that lasted an hour and a half that found disc herniations. How come your 5 minute "EMG" can't find anything?" He answers, "I don't know". Presbyterian is complicit in allowing him to charge and be paid for services not rendered. Shame on them both!

Neurologists overall are an uneven bunch and tend towards the eccentric when it comes to the various fields of medicine. But Dr. Gurule is a careful, thoughtful doctor in whose hands you can feel safe. I highly recommend him, especially after having some terrible experiences with other neurologists in the area, one of which injured me and the other which nearly killed me. So if that isn't a good recommendation for Dr. Gurule I don't know what is!

The visit was fine and informative. Dr. Gurule was patient and answered all our questions. Unfortunately, the follow up after the appointment was extremely disappointing. We were told to bring in some forms for the doctor to fill out. We did. We did not hear back from the doctor for almost 2 months. We went into the office to inquire twice after that and called 3 more times only to be told how busy the doctor is and that it would still be at least another month to get the forms filled out. After expressing frustration and disappointment with this lack of interest in meeting our needs. we were then told to take the forms that we've been waiting on for 3 months to the primary care doctor to get them filled out. Now we're expected to go out of our way to get a 2 page form filled out by a different doctor who didn't make the diagnosis in the first place after waiting for Dr. Gurule to do it for 3 months. Totally unacceptable to run a practice like this.

Horrible doctor. I saw him for epilepsy. After I went to another neurologist I found out that I should have blood work every 6 months because the medication gurgle had me on can damage my kidneys and bones. How many times in 9 years did he send me for blood work? ONE! Then I started falling and stumbling and after a few tests he tells me I cross my legs too much and to stop doing that. I went for a second opinion and she took the time to find out what is wrong. It had nothing to do with crossing my legs. He is the worst doctor ever. Complain to your insurance company. They will investigate

I went in with a lot of pain almost unable to walk. He sent me for an MRI then the next appt to see him was 3 months later. Unreal, waiting 3 months for results when you are in pain. He seemed busy and ready to get onto the next patient.

Very disappointing! I saw Dr. Gurule a few times for head injury and seizures. He doesn't like when I ask questions; and when he does answer questions, he is vague/noncommittal with no explanation or education. He has given me incorrect information, more than once, and has not displayed any empathy.

Don't waste your time or money visiting this inept physician. After 3 MRI's, a lumbar puncture and multiple blood tests, he is unable to diagnose me and has indicated "there is nothing further" he can do for me.

I am an Advanced Practice Nurse who consulted Gurule for a facial Cranial Nerve injury after a trauma. Was referred for follow up to a Facial Plastic Surgeon who no longer exists in Albuquerque for facial paralysis. Called the Office Manager to report referal error. She said that she would get back to me after speaking with Gurule. One month later still no call. They basically do not care about being sure their patients are cared for properly. My record reflects that I was referred. Dishonest

Dr. Gurule' has been extremely helpful with regard to my neurological issues. He is extremely knowledgeable and cares about his patients. I was extremely impressed by his mannerisms. He takes the time to talk to his patients in his office which is very professional, then He performs the neurological exam in the exam room. I am very pleased with this doctor and highly recommend him. Extremely courteous, professional, kind, and knowledgeable
