I have hEDS
I went to Dr Isser Sax at the start of my UCH care. I have hyper mobile ehlers danlos. I was broken and dealing with chronic pain daily. She helped not only with her area of expertise but referred me to the specialists I needed to fix the injuries I had while I gained strength in another part of UCH in their wonderful physical therapy program. All these years later I live with so much less pain that I have a quality of life not possible without her. She has listened to me, taken care of me and helped me find a future I never thought was possible. Last time I needed her care she made space for me during the holidays, I'll never forget that. I hope I never need her care again because it means my spine is causing me pain but if I do I know there is not a better doctor out there for my spine and my neck. I trust this doc and I don't say that about many. Thank you so much Dr Isser Sax, I appreciate you very much!!

Would not recommend
I saw Dr. Isser Sax in August 2021 and had a bad experience (to be fair, perhaps a one-off for her?). At my first appointment, I waited over an hour past my appointment time to be seen. Then, she scheduled me for a cortisone shot. My fault for not asking enough questions, but I'd assumed this was a routine cortisone shot in my buttock, which I have received before. Turns out, she scheduled me for a cortisone shot into the affected area of my spine. I was surprised and trusting, so I proceeded with the treatment which ended up making my back pain infinitely worse for at least 3 months until it wore off. When I expressed my concern weeks after the procedure that I was in severe, worsened pain, she said it "should get better soon" and didn't follow-up after that. I switched doctors and now have an excellent orthopedic surgeon who listens to my concerns patiently, discusses treatment options thoroughly ahead of time and cares about my wellbeing. I wouldn't recommend Dr Isser Sax.

I would not recommend Dr. Sax to anyone. I understand that CU is a teaching facility and she needs to do a formal symptom rundown to demo her work to the residents, but that's the only thing she's good at. When it comes to the actual patient care, Dr. Sax couldn't care less. She will schedule appt after appt to "go over your concerns", but wouldn't even make a phone call to the insurance company when it's all that's needed for an MRI approval.
