I saw Dr Roth at UW Fred Hutch for several months after having a total thyroidectomy from thyroid cancer. She had a decent disposition and seemed well practiced, but I personally felt she struggled to listen or validate my symptoms and experiences post surgery. I left our appointments feeling dismissed often. It was though she genuinely seemed bothered that I kept reaching out to her and her care team because I was having complications with the treatment protocol she planned for me. I ended up switching to another oncologist and am more content with my care now that I did.

Took her time and was caring
Saw Dr. Roth after receiving my thyroid cancer diagnosis. She was informative, very detailed, kind and took the time to answer all of my questions. I really like her demeanor.

Feel totally ignored as my thyroid levels get wors
Dr roth at first seemed like she cared but as the years webt by my thyroid levels got worse. I have no thyroid due to thyroid cancer and my thyroid is isnt metabolizing likeit should. I feel like she doesn't seem to care how i feel and i feel miserable! I can no longer get out of bed, i can barley stay awake anymore. my muscles ache my feet are extremely swollen and my depression is out of control due to no thyroid replacement ( my body doesn't metabolize it correctly) or even work anymore. I realize that thyroid replacement changes constantly but as an endocrinologist she should know how to deal w that instead i get better care from my primary care dr who knows very little on that subject but if i didn't have my pcp im sure i would feel worse than i already do or be dead . If i had breast or brain cancer i would probably get better care but i guess to Seattle cancer care Alliance thyroid cancer is no big deal and they will just let u feel this way. I

I found her staff incompetent. She herself may be competent but her arrogance is so predominate i never got past that. I called a patient advocate and expressly asked for this doctor to email me going forward . I said that would be best FOR ME. she ignored this request and immediately called me.i found this inconsiderate and rude. I would never see this doctor again i doNOT trust her to have my best interest in mind because she is too arrogant to listen to her patient. I find that my doctor ACTUALLY listening to me is my #1 characteristic i am looking for in a doctor, and for the doctor to actually value my input of my own care.
