Dr. Levin is outstanding on every facet
Dr. Levin treated my wife for a difficult nerve palsy following a stroke. At every visit he explained with perfect clarity what was going on medically, the likely prognosis from 'zero option' (doing nothing) to that based on several different possible treatment paths, with some some reasonable estimations of the likelihood of various outcomes. He explained the basis for his assessments, shared what he was seeing as he put my wife through the various testing protocols, gave us a conservative plan (in case the zero option worked), and followed up with surgery that worked even better than predicted, with no surprises, and caring, professional care from all his co-workers and staff. I understand he will soon be passing on his expertise to aspiring ophthalmologists at UCSF; though he is clearly at the top of his game, he is completely unaffected. He is a man of integrity, a real heimische mensch.

I just got back from my post-op, so it's three days after my surgery with Dr. Levin. And I'm absolutely amazed with this man. I hadn't any type of surgery prior and since I suffer from anxiety and panic disorder, it could have been a complete disaster. Dr. Levin took into account my mental health and discussed the process with me in a way that left little anxiety. He has been incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. We are being cautiously optimistic that my lazy eye is no more!

We took our son to see Dr. Levin. After stumping the ophthalmologist, the pediatric neurologist and the neurosurgeon, we were incredibly relieved to find Dr Mark Levin because he knew how to correct our son's late onset (age 17) strabismus (crossed eyes).

I was referred to Dr. Levin a couple of years ago when I lost half the vision in my right eye. He did a thorough exam, then carefully considered what tests might help diagnose my condition. Several days after my visit with him, he had the results of the blood work he had ordered and he had a diagnosis. He and I had a very informative conversation on the phone. While it was difficult to receive the news (I have a rare autoimmune disease), I am very grateful to him for his collaboration.
