Dr. Marc Otten, MD

Dr. Otten was able to give definitive diagnoses for the weakness in and the occasional sciatic pain down the right leg. He explained the pros and cons of surgery on the two affected regions of my lumbar spine. Absolutely no pressure to have surgery at this time because of my age. I feel very satisfied that if and when the time comes that the pain becomes more constant, he will do what is necessary to relieve the pain.

Dr. Otten was beyond helpful at my appointment. I booked his services by mistake, thinking he was a neurologist. But he still took time to see me, hear my concerns and advise me on next steps. Wow! I've gotten used to overworked and burnt out doctors, and Dr. Otten is like one of those old school doctors. He clearly cares, and all the great things I had heard from patients of his I know are true. He takes the time to explain things, and does great work.

Dr. Otten is a talented surgeon, and a compassionate person. It was so scary when I was first told I had a tumor, and Dr. Otten made me feel so comfortable that we had a plan, and that I was in the best of hands. I went home the day after surgery, and MRIs over the years since surgery have shown no more tumor. I am so fortunate and grateful to have found him, and am writing this so that others can benefit from this gifted doctor.

IF I COULD GIVE 10 STARS I WOULD! I had a seizure 4 years ago that was caused by a meningioma. The meningioma grew over time and edema became an issue. Dr. Otten precisely diagnosed my condition and the extent of the procedure required. Four personal doctors (2 relatives and 2 close friends) all said that Dr. Otten should perform the operation. I went into the hospital on a Monday and left Wednesday. During my 2-day stay EVERYONE that recognized Dr. Otten’s name as my surgeon commented how capable he is -- one nurse that attended to me related that Dr. Otten saved her father’s life! I am not too quick to give praise but his skill, professionalism, and warm interaction with my family is exceptional. Furthermore, Ann, the office manager, is terrific. She scheduled everything, notified me when an appointment had to be cancelled (due to an emergency procedure that Dr. Otten had to perform) and expressed a kindness that, at times, is needed!
