Dr. Marc Sonenshine, MD

Dr S was completely dismissive after performing a procedure. After I came out of anesthesia, he did not bother to come in a private area to provide information or follow up, simply walked past me, as patients are told to sit in chairs in an open hallway, with other patients sitting directly next to me in chairs and said he would be in touch. Completely uncaring, unwilling to even stop or have a private conversation. And in fact, I did not hear from him or his office with the results. I have never experienced such unprofessional behavior in my many years of doctor interactions. I will never return, not that he will care or notice.

Dr SONENSHINE is an excellent physician. I met Dr. S. After many years with another now retired physician suggested I do from this practice. When you are with him he listens. He asks questions, he always ask if I have any questions. Before I leave Dr. S. Will Say, “You Know How To Reach Me. I have been with this practice since 1982 or 1983.Highly recommend Dr. SONENSHINE.

Everyone was friendly. Appointment was quick but thorough. Dr Sonenshine is personable and easy to talk to and best of all listens to your issues. Highly recommend.

I felt the visit was efficient and answered all my questions

My first visit to Dr. S's practice went surprisingly smoothly. I fully expected to fill out a stack of papers in the waiting room prior to seeing the doc, however, after completing the emailed electronic data collection a night or two earlier, no further paperwork was requested in the waiting room, just the presentation of my insurance documents. The wait to see the doc was short. The visit courteous, to the point and completed in a timely manner. The office discharge routine went smoothly. All went very well.

I have been very disappointed in my care from Dr Sonenshine. He seems dispassionate and and has barely engaged to diagnose my problems.

He provided great guidance and I appreciated him fitting me in a very busy schedule.

The staff was friendly and proficient. I was very disappointed in Dr Sonenshine. Worst physician/ patient encounter I have ever experienced. Based upon his portal communication he seems to be a very knowledgeable clinician . However, face to face I found him to be rude, condescending, non -compassionate , and non-communitive.( gave curt yes, no, I don’t know answers) . I found him very difficult to talk with. As a medical professional, I could not recommend him to friends or family.

The office staff is, professional. However, Dr. Soneshine’s assistant returns calls 1 time out of 4. Dr. Sonenshine is also professional and the first visit was to the point and solution-focused. He is very responsive to the portal in terms of time elapsed after sending a question. However, my perception is that the way he responds and in his overall demeanor after the first visit sacrifices too many other doctors-to-patient communication requirements due to his cold/single-focused approach, leaving the patient with little guidance or assurance. He provides direct answers but does not do so compassionately or completely, leaving the patient in the dark when it comes to “why”. We must only follow his instructions like cattle being herded. I prefer a synergy with my doctors. I prefer doctors who take time to dialogue one-on-one with patients, explain rationale behind their approach and also provide options. Dr. Sonenshine may be better-suited for patients who like to be strongly led.

Liked Dr Sonenshine a lot but his office left something to be desired they never returned my calls and it’s a long time to wait for results 7 to 10 days

I would have given a 5 star rating except he kept me waiting an hour for my telehealth visit. He gave me plenty of time to explain my issues without interruption, then explained in detail the procedures he was recommending giving me time to ask questions. I would definitely recommend him if you can tolerate a very long wait time.

This was my first visit with Dr. Sonenshine, and my husband and I were really impressed with how much time he took to listen to my concerns, quickly accessed my health records from 2 hospitals and determined a strategy for me. His staff is really attentive to my concerns and very friendly.

He was excellent. The best doc I ever went to.

Dr. Sonenshine is an excellent gastroenterologist. He has done two colonoscopies and two endoscopies on me. He is very professional and candid. I highly recommend him.

This is only about Dr Soneshine not the entire practice- I have never had such a negative feeling after speaking with an adult in my adult life let alone an actual Physician before. I went to visit Marc B. Sonenshine on Tuesday morning and just to paint the picture there was literally one other person in the waiting room- ONE- and when I left there was also ONE other person in the waiting room so it's not like he was very busy. I was there on a recommendation from my dad's friend. I'm only 29 but I have had a series of Gastro intestinal issues. Marc B. Sonenshine was incredibly rude, when he came in the room He acted like he was way too busy to be there and like there were 50 more important patients than me waiting to see him. He also acted very disinterested in my situation and like he couldn't wait to leave. I was so disappointed because I heard good things about him and also I took time off of work to be there. Forget bedside manner, this guy was a total and I mean total jet!

Excellent doctor. He went above and beyond to find my ailment and he found it and cured it. The whole experience with Dr. Sonenshine and Atlanta Gastro has exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended.
