Dr. Marcelo Helguera, MD

I had an upsetting and extremely disappointing experience with Dr. Helguera. He emphasized that ablation for SVT had a very high success rate and very low risk, especially with modern machines. Instead, the procedure failed, I suffered a stroke, and my heart is now in far worse condition than it was before— both quantitatively and qualitatively. Critical safety steps, like timely ACT monitoring, were delayed or missing during the procedure. Key documentation, such as timestamps for high-risk steps, was also absent, making it impossible to verify whether proper protocols were followed.Additionally, his follow-up care was extremely delayed and poor, leaving me with no clarity or reassurance about the outcome. I cannot recommend him, nor the hospital, to anyone.

So disappointed - never again. I was a patient for several years and was initially happy however it became clear he no longer had time for established patients, didn't listen or read patient records and even when corrected updated the records incorrectly. Pushed surgery over and over and stopped listening. Left his care and the cardio department of hospital based on treatment

Absolutely NO interpersonal ability. He has an heir of superiority or lack of conscience. I had unplanned pacemaker implant procedure so didnt choose him. Complications during procedure where I have two large cuts on both sides of my chest and R side implant. He didnt have courtesy to even attempt to explain anything to me after procedure. Didnt visit me in hospital, nor call after d/c. My entire chest had staples! He passes me in hallway day u get staples removed and doesn't even return a simple hello. Over a month to schedule post op visit and his office calls that morn to cxl. Didnt offer alternative, i had to ask if someone else could see me! I have no words to describe the disappointment in him and would never refer him even to anyone. Hope he takes this feedback to heart and make constructive changes if he wants to model what CC states as their state of art ? care

The rudest most incompetent doctor I have ever spoke with. He called me on a virtual phone call got really nasty and then tried to Have one of his nurses admit me to the hospital without a consult, he has been turned into the Florida Board of Health.

Made me feel at ease until he made a comment about women being "worrisome." If I have a heart rate of over 230 I'm obviously going to be slightly concerned. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOC IF YOU ARE A FEMALE.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Helguera. He took his time to explain everything with details while answering all of my questions. Shows that he has plenty of experience and practice. Would highly recommend.

I went to Dr.Helguera a little over a year ago, I had severe heart flutters. Listened to what I had to say and will recommend.

Treated me very well. Listened to what I had to day and made me feel comfortable. Will recommend to friends and family.

Dr. Helguera has NO bedside manner. He has NO compassion, NO empathy, and NO desire whatsoever in making a patient feel comfortable. I don't care that I did not hear what I expected to hear. This person made me cry 60 seconds into the visit. He showed complete indifference and apathy to all that I have been through, and no interest in studying my record or getting to the bottom of my case. He did not offer possible reasons. He was insensitive, crass and unconcerned. Apalling to have him there!

I was recommended to see Dr. Helguera, MD regarding recently diagnosed heart condition. He gave me a 1 minute overview of the condition and said he would prescribe some drugs ... when i mentioned that i'd prefer to find other ways to treat this, he mentioned surgery, Then i asked if i NEEDED drugs, he said no, not really, as i was low risk. Then he said, if that changes, to let him know and he walked out - it was a total of 5 minutes with nothing on lifestyle or diet changes.

Dr. Helguera met me in Nov. I had heart flutter, rapid heart beat and irregular heart beat. Very rare to have all three conditions. He performed a 4 hour ablation procedure on me in Nov, 2016. Afterwards my flutter was 70% better. Irregular heart beat was gone. He did do the repair for rapid heart beat due to time under general anesthesia. Returned March 2017 for ablation to correct remaining 30% flutter and rapid heart beat. As of April, 2017 my heart beat is 100% normal.

Worst Doctor I have ever met in my life and I hope I never see him again. I went to see him with a folder filled with test results from many years (from one of the best hospitals in the US) and he said that it was a lie, that there was no evidence of anything wrong with me, that the test results were not true... He had no idea of what my diagnosis was and instead of telling me that and trying to help he put it on me. Disrespectful. He listened to my heart for 10 seconds and called me a lair
