I was referred by my doctor because I had pain and numbness in my feet and my doctor thought I might have peripheral neuropathy. Dr Roy laughed at me when I told her some of my symptoms, then she did some awkward testing with needles, sat back and said yes, you have peripheral neuropathy. Come back in six months. I felt very uncomfortable with the swift diagnosis and diagnosis with no instructions of what to do medically for the six months before my next appointment. I looked and read Dr Roy’s ratings which was a 2 star rating and then did my research to find a Neurologist with a higher rating and found Dr Hussains with a 5 star rating. He did a verbal question and answer session and a physical exam and then requested a DNA testingwhich took 6 weeks to get the results that determined peripheral neuropathy is not hereditary in my family and he scheduled nerve testing that determined that I do not have peripheral neuropathy. There are different types of neuropathy so he has more testing

Excellent!
Dr Roy and her staff conducted an EMG on me to diagnose the identify the nerves and muscles being affected by a herniated disc. They had gracious bedside manner and gave me answers that I had not previously received from multiple visits to other doctors.

Best Neurologist I've Ever Had
I have never had a neurologist be so understanding and kind about my migraines with aura. She offered a multitude of solutions and was sincerely interested in how I felt about these options. She is the first neurologist to take my aura problems as seriously as the migraine pain itself. Grateful for her support.

Disrespectful
I wasn't the patient but my mother was. Dr. Roy was extremely impatient, didn't even acknowledge my mom's concerns, and disregarded me when I offered to show pictures of some of the bruising on my mom's body that relate to whatever condition she might have. She snapped at my mother that she couldn't do anything for her, and walked out of the room without another word. Mind you, this was in response to my mother practically begging for Dr. Roy to help with her crippling pain she's suffered with for nearly a year now. Deeply saddening, my mother doesn't deserve to be treated like that.

Very long wait and she does not care about history. Rushed through 1st appointment after having me wait 45 minutes. 2nd Appt waited almost an hour to get nerve blocks. She does not discuss triggers or other concerns, just wants to push medication. Not a pleasant experience and will be seeing someone else next time.

I went to Dr. Roy to get treatment for daily migraines. She would not let me finish a sentence to explain my history in full. She wanted to get in and out of the appointment as quickly as possible. I went through 3 courses of treatment with her that were unsuccessful in treating my migraines. The 3rd course of medication caused heart racing & palpitations. She increased my dose regardless of this. When the medication STILL wasn't working she told me to go see a cardiologist for my heart racing. I'm sure she's very competent, but did not treat me as an individual with a unique history.

I was referred to Dr. Roy for Restless Legs Syndrome. She advertises that RLS is one of her specialties. She referred me to another doctor saying that he knew more about severe RLS than she did. In the meanwhile she prescribed a drug that made my symptoms worse. She would have known better if she had been a member of the RLS foundation and read their literature. The doctor she referred me to didn't know any more about RLS than she did. I wound up going to a certified RLS clinic in Houston.

Dr. Roy knows nothing about treating severe RLS. She prescribed some meds that actually made my symptoms worse. She sent me to another doctor that new even less than she did.

She's a competent neurologist, but I'm having to leave her practice for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that I have waited up to two hours to see her, and once they told me I had to reschedule because I was late when I was ALREADY IN HER OFFICE WAITING ROOM and had been there over 30 minutes. She recently moved to Baylor, Scott and White, which was the last straw for me. Her prices more than doubled. Time to move on.

Zero likelihood of recommending Dr. Roy. I waited over 4 months, after setting the original appointment, and never did get to actually see the doctor. Staff cancelled my appointment twice, It is virtually impossible to get a human-being on the phone. Part of the difficulty lies in the policy that the office telephone will not route calls thru to staff during the noon hour, which is about the only time working folks like me to have time 'free' to make personal calls. Office closed on Fri.!!

I’ve had my share of experience with doctors due to 30 yr history of migraines and cervical spine issues and Dr. Roy is the worst Dr I’ve seen. I waited over an hour and a half to be seen and she didn’t even acknowledge or apologize for the tardiness. She had me complete a 6+ page history form. After reading it and asking some questions she proceeded to hand me a generic handout with instructions to exercise, stay hydrated, get enough sleep. Then she prescribed meds I had tried and had bad SE.

I have been a patient of Dr. Roy's for over ten years. What I love most about her is the time that she spends with each patient she sees, not rushing out to the next patient in ten minute increments. With some of the negative feedback I've seen here, mostly concerning wait times, I just wanted to set the record straight. When patients have to wait Dr. Roy stays later in the day/evening to make sure everyone is seen.

This lady actually rolled her eyes at me as she was walking out the door and I politely asked if we could address the last of my concerns that I had stated early in the conversation I wanted to talk about. After a two hour drive, a broken down car, an Uber ride, a Fast ride, and a tow truck bill to get to her and back home, I figured a little bit of a better bedside manner would have been in order.

After reading some of the previous reviews on this and other sites, I went in with no real expectations. Most of the less than favorable reviews appeared to be from patients with severe migraines and phaving only experienced a few of those in the past, I can understand how painful and distraught you can become and how fast you want relief. My visit was excellent in every manner from my initial contact with the receptionist, checking in, etc, to the neurologic testing and follow up with Dr. Roy

I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Dr. Roy. She seems to have no interest in helping her patients whatsoever, just collecting their money. Waited 1 hr+ at almost every appointment. HORRIBLE bedside manner, and all she did was order two very expensive MRIs which didn't address my issues at all. When I finally went to another neurologist, they were shocked she ordered them, as my diagnosis was fairly obvious. I wasted way too much money and certainly too much time with Dr. Roy.
