I ABSOLUTELY love Dr.MacGregor. I was involved in a major car accident on 7/5/2022.I was referred to her by the attorney that was representing me. I live close to the TN/AL line and it was quite a drive when you don't drive well in Nashville traffic. I was told in my area it was that my back and neck were just sprained because of the impact of an older distracted driver. That was not the case.I wound up having neck fusion in May of 2023 and then had to have back fusion in October 2023. This has been a looooonngggg recovery. I couldn't ride in a car, walk or take care of myself. Thanking my kids who moved from GA to help me through this process. While I now need a rolly walker or cane to get around it's ok. My quality of life has drastically improved. I don't know what I would have done without her expertise and knowledge. Dr.MacGregor used robotics for both of my procedures. The staff is always nice and I have come to know all of them well. Thank you to the BEST Neurosurgeon and Staff for meeting all me needs.

Ruined my life
Dr. MacGregor did fusion on my lower back. After surgery I was in the worst pain of my life. It was the 13th surgery I had undergone in my lifetime & my family had always considered me to have a high pain tolerance. I told my husband I really prayed for God to “take me”. I just couldn’t do this one. I learned what the phrase “crying out loud” meant. I would get stabs of pain in my back that would make me scream. It happened a couple times on my follow-up and the PA took me straight to the ER for a morphine shot. She said, “no one should ever be in pain like that!”I needed a walker for mos. & I couldn’t rollover in bed or sit on the toilet without my husband’s help. One look at my x-ray showed the problem. The cage on the l. side of my spine is too narrow & is pinching a nerve, permanently. Her response was, “my surgery is perfect! You just need to toughen up!” After that she wouldn’t see me. I have a stimulator implanted but can’t get total relief fm pain & I have perm. neuropathy.

Fantastic neurosurgeon
I've been seeing Dr. MacGregory since 2015. My spine has some serious issues, and I've needed three surgeries in that time--all of them highly successful. She takes plenty of time with patients, explains everything thoroughly, and is very pleasant and friendly. She's a brilliant surgeon. I initially sought her out because she is highly skilled at minimally invasive surgeries. As long as she's working, she's the neuro I'll see, and I'm driving 200 miles to see her.

Dr. Macgregor did surgery on my neck a couple years ago. Good job too I might add. Now I’m having headaches everyday and want to get into see her and I have to get a referral from another Dr. just to see her. I get the referral through and now have to wait 3days for someone to call me to schedule an appointment. And was told that there is a waiting list of referrals and I “would have to get in line. “ thinking I should go somewhere else but, really like Dr. macgregor

Do not let this doctor operate on you
I had simple back surgery by this doctor which ended in tragedy! After a straight forward laminectomy this doctor removed scar tissue, cut too deep and cut the nerves to my left leg leaving me unable to walk. On my follow-up visits this doctor never saw me again but always sent in a nurse to deliver the grim news that my leg would never get better. Now, I’m left with a leg I can’t feel, severe pain and the possibility of losing my leg. Please beware!!!!!!!!

Compressed Femoral nerve surgery
I was dealing with a terrible pain in my left front thigh, could hardly walk. Made an appointment with Dr. MacGregor, she reviewed the MRI and determined the problem was the Femoral nerve that was compressed from stenosis. She was able to use Robotics remove some of the cartilage that was causing this compression. What a great job Dr. MacGregor did. No more pain!! Can’t say enough about her and her NP Kelsey. Great staff and all around great experience!

Dr. Macgregor assisted me after a colleague of hers failed to fully address the issues with my neck. She performed surgery on my neck 7 years after the first surgery and repaired my spine from the base of my neck to the top. I haven't felt this well in almost a decade. Because OWCP would not let me wait for a surgical date that better suited my schedule I had to have the procedure the day before Thanksgiving 2020 during the height of the pandemic, Dr. Macgregor, after spending hours the day before in surgery, came to check on my progress the day of the holiday. She is quite simply the best most thoughtful surgeon I have ever had, and I have had more than 10 procedures. Do yourself a favor and go see her first and let her assist you with your issues.

I cannot praise Dr. Macgregor enough! In September of 2020, she removed four bone spurs from my upper spine in a four-hour intensive surgery. I was so apprehensive before the surgery in fear that I might be paralyzed afterwards. However, the results have been just the opposite: I never once felt any after-surgery pain, I have a tiny one-half inch scar on the front of my neck, and I can turn my head every which way, without the original pain between my shoulders and down my left arm. Any further spine surgery for me will be done by her. She has the hands of a magician. I highly recommend her!!!!

I went to Dr. MacGregor for a second opinion for a headache that would not go away after a car accident. I had this horrible headache for almost a year and nothing helped. I had a MRI about 6 months prior to my first appt. Dr. MacGregor took the time to look at the images instead of just reading the report and saw I had a herniated cervical disc that needed to be replaced. I had the surgery almost a year ago and the headache slowly went away. I no longer have headaches and can live like normal now. If Dr. MacGregor had not have taken the time to figure out the issue, I would still be dealing with a non-stop headache and being told by a previous neurologist that it will just take time to go away. I can now get back to being the wife and mom I used to be instead of just having to be in the background of life.

Dr MacGregor was top drawer, first class all the way from my initial contact, throughout the surgery, and post surgical visits. She answered all my questions thoroughly, and made sure all my personal requests were met. The actual surgery was a 100% success. Her assistant, Nurse Practitioner Jill Major, was equally qualified and skilled in her profession, and a true professional all the way. I felt completely comfortable in the presence of both, and had/have complete confidence in their abilities.

I went to see Dr. MacGregor after another surgeon recommended I go see her about my low back pain. She told me that I did not need surgery but instead should consider losing weight or even have bariatric surgery. At first I was a little taken back by her comment but I was told that she always "shoots straight". According to her my BMI was too high to be a good surgical candidate and that from the images (MRI's & Xrays) performed there was no permanent damage. She thought if I dropped the weight my back issues would correct. I am happy to report that I am down 100# my back issues have corrected. plus I feel great! I am able to do activities with my grandchildren and have returned to golf! Thank you doctor for telling me the truth, I am sure it would have been easy for you to send me along without having me face my reality. I really appreciate your candor!

My appointment was delayed, worth it! I just wanted to thank Dr. MacGregor and staff for working us in this past Friday. Her clinic was delayed due to an emergency surgery she performed in the morning. We received a call at 8 AM telling us our appointment would be delayed by at least 30 minutes. It was actually closer to an hour delayed but because they called we were able to re-arrange our transportation to the appointment and no one was upset. In fact, all the patients understood and the staff kept us informed along the way. It just went to prove why they have the reputation of being one of the best out there. My doctor insisted I go to see her even though it took almost a month to get an appointment. I feel like she is the doctor for me, I'm hopeful for my treatment!

I was in severe pain & had a lot of other health issues all coming from the injury in my neck. I figured surgery, post-surgery healing & follow up would take months! And I was sacred & nervous. Here I am 3 months post-op & going back to work! I can't say enough Great things about Dr. MacGregor & her staff! They know what they're doing & do an Amazing job! I even had, what I felt was post-op complications. I called Dr. MacGregor & she stated that everything sounded normal but if I continued to worry, to go to the ER. I did. She spoke with the ER doctor directly, explained to them what to do & I have never felt so much better! At my follow up with her, we even discussed the ER visit in detail, So I could understand it. She has Never rushed me in her office or made me feel like I was "just another number". She addresses all your issues & listens! If I had to do all over again, I would! And Dr. MacGregor would Definitely be my surgeon!

Dr. MacGregor did a neck surgery for me in '18. I had a two level ACDF with great results! Before I was suffering from neck and shoulder pain, I couldn't stand up straight and I was always in pain. It got so bad I had to sleep in my chair and couldn't get any rest. When the pain turned to numbness in my arm and all the way down to my hands I knew there was something seriously wrong. It was mostly on my right side but eventually went into both arms. After surgery, the pain and numbness were gone and my neck was pain free. Then in '19 I developed severe low back pain, I have lived with pain all my life from H.S. sports, my job, life. What happened was I fell off my motorcycle and ended up damaging my back. Dr. thought she could fix me but it was going to require a fusion. I was fused at L5/S1 in September and just had my 3 month appointment this past week. Even though my bike was totalled, luckily my body wasn't. I was given

I went to see Dr. MacGregor yesterday for my neck. Great office, nice staff and it is clear that everyone there cares about me as a patient! I was offered coffee, TV, internet access and even charging statiions for my phone! This group not only gets me but knows what it means to be in customer service. I worked retail in Green Hills for over 20 years and appreciate service when I receive it. Can't wait to see if Dr. MacGregor can help me with my healthcare but from the initial appointment I never felt like a number. Instead, I was treated with compassion, care, and respect. So refreshing these days, maybe this is where I will find answers? Who knows but excited to have her as my doctor.
