Coming from another urology practice, I found Dr. Thomer to be extremely intelligent AND practical. She gathered my past complex medical information efficiently and completely. Regarding my immediate complaint, she was able to clearly explain the causes and her plans to address it which eliminating my fears. Dr. Thomer made a drug change to further reduce my urinary symptoms, discussed her suggested office based tests and procedures, along with what we may learn from them, which will help us with making best decisions moving forward. I am COMPLETELY confident in her expertise and experience with my condition.

Refuses to listen to you
I will never ask her another question because all she ever answers is 'asked and answered'. That is her way of saying that she won't answer any questions, even if I don't understand. Had an evaluation of kidney stones that were retracted and nothing she told me to avoid do I eat -- but did she even ask me if I ate these things NO, not once. Don't drink so much tea and soda, you need to avoid these -- I only drink water, have touched any tea or soda in over three years -- but she didn't bother to ask me that. SHE DOESN'T BOTHER TO LISTEN TO THE PATIENT. The same was for the other items she said were causing the stones -- nothing I am eating. SHE HAS NO PERSONALITY AND CARES NOTHING ABOUT YOU AS THE PATIENT.

She is the most caring doctor I have ever had. Takes her time to explain everything and makes certain that you understand. She called me once at 7:30pm to make sure I was ok.

Very rushed, dismissive and non-communicative. Had some errors in her notes in my records, too, that caused confusion and misunderstanding at a subsequent visit I had with my primary care doctor. My main issue, though, is the first thing I mentioned: how rushed and dismissive she is. If there are two things I can't stand in a doctor, and a doctor-patient relationship, those are the two. Luckily, the thing that was found on/in my kidney turns out to be (for now, anyway) not a big deal, so I have an entire year to find another urologist (which I have already done and will be contacting that doctor soon to get my records transferred and maybe even make an appointment to get established now, ahead of next year's re-check), as I have thought it over and decided that there is no reason for me to choose to continue with/go back to this doctor, when I can choose someone more respectful, communicative and who takes time with their patients.

Unsatisfactory, no follow up to phone calls, delay in completing forms, no contact regarding results of MRI, had to go to radiology and pick up my results and take them to my internist for review.

Dr. Thomer is very thorough; she took the time to actually discuss my medical history and ask/answer questions. I have rarely met with a physician who takes as much time as necessary to go into such detail and offer advice and options.

I feel that Dr. Thomer lacks compassion for the amount of pain and discomfort I've been in. Sometimes the visits have been rushed and I'm made to feel that any questions I have are an annoyance to her. I also don't care for their system of double-booking, so my time in the waiting room is over 30 mins.
