Dr. Mari Groves, MD

Dr. Groves was rude, condescending and left bruises on my son during his exam. She was very nice when she came in the room for 5 minutes of questioning and a physical exam. Left to talk to another provider. She came back 20 minutes later to tell me that nothing was wrong with my child. We were in the office for 30 minutes and 25 of them she was talking to the other provider. When I asked her how she came to this conclusion she just advised that my child get an MRI and stated that I probably did not notice his symptoms correctly. She also told me that my child's symptoms were a result of our choice to have a home birth.In this short period of time she belittled me and minimized the severity of my child's symptoms. When I asked questions she became very rude and would respond twisting my words around with questions I was not asking. We are now being seen by another doctor at Children's hospital. Please save your time and money. Go somewhere else!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. If you're looking for a doctor that doesn't care about symptoms, maybe she's for you. If you want someone to take you seriously and listen, keep looking. She didn't bother listening to my daughter regarding symptoms related to chiari, she went right to imaging (which wasn't even ordered correctly) and dismissed everything. I wouldn't even want her as a doctor at this point based on her negligence. Her PA was amazing, Dr Groves, however, not so much.

Checked in through ER and was assigned her as to fuse my spine. Only saw her 3 times and she hurried my surgery so much I have to have a revision with Ortho as I will never trust her as a doctor again. The residents on the neurology wing only spent a total of 3 mins a day in the room checking on me. The follow up I was supposed to have with her was rescheduled to be seen by anyone but her. Put in a complaint about her and she lied to make me look terrible. Thanks to her rushed surgery I now have to take more time off work to have another doctor fix her mistakes. Never go to a Neuro surgeon for a spinal fusion because they don't take the time to make sure they do things right.

Dr. Groves has a quiet, laid back demeanor and was very attentive to our needs. We never felt hurried. She really listens to patient and family. Asks if we had any questions, and answered all of them as thoroughly as possible. She also has a physician's assistant who took as much time as necessary to compile a complete history and current issue/problem.
