Dr. Maria Cardenas, MD

I’m writing to express my frustration with Dr. Maria Cardenas. After being told I’d receive a follow-up call with lab results, three weeks passed without communication. My mother called the office, and a few days later, Dr. Cardenas called me directly, asking, 'Are you a competent adult, or should I talk to your mother?' She then mentioned she was on vacation and dismissed our concerns with, 'We all have lives, you know?' She even falsely accused my mother of leaving an angry voicemail. My first visit was marked by miscommunication. My primary doctor provided me a referral, and her office initially said the referral was acceptable. However, Dr. Cardenas later claimed it wasn't, causing me to reschedule. I had to reschedule again due to a college exam. When I finally attended, Dr. Cardenas criticized me for 'wasting the appointment' and mentioned, 'other people are dying out there' who could've used that spot. She dismissed my concerns and medical history, lacking professionalism.

She spent over an hour with me and explained my conditions completely, even though it was not urgent. Very nice. I recommend. I also returned for a followup visit.
