I have been very disappointed in my experiences with Dr. Castro. I have felt dismissed at every turn. I will not be returning to see her.

Fails to make eye contact. Not friendly. “Aloof” attitude and does not make the patient feel “important” or that the Doctor even cares about the patient at all. Entire medical care, diagnosis attempts, research of the medical condition, including questionable treatment of medical condition, is 100% “sub-standard”. Failed to properly examine, order proper tests, diagnose, investigate, treat serious medical condition “satisfactorily,“ or “at all”. Failure to adequately communicate with patient, and/or communication was basically ”so minimal & inadequate“, as to be considered “not at all”, or helpful to the patient. Medical condition is still serious and potentially fatal if not adequately medically investigated & treated. Would NOT recommend to family, friends or others. This Doctor exhibits 100% “Negligent Standard of Care”.

I have never experienced a more insensitive and non compassionate doctor in my life. I will say the male assistant doctor seemed to have potential however, he was to scared/intimidated by her to speak up against anything she previously said. She does not let you express your concerns at all. Awful Doctor and I just wonder how a place like Mayo hired her. There was couple of critical tests she should and could have done as well but did not. To drive all the way from another state just to hear that. Never again. Please stay away from this dr and right now I’m questioning the entire hospital as they hired her.

I'm surprised at the negative reviews, given that my own experience was so good. I do think the "Mayo Experience," particularly if you travel from a significant distance, can be very wearing, especially when you feel awful. Dr. Castro is sometimes in the position of delivering bad news and she does it with grace, but it still isn't easy to hear. She's a gem.

She is a strong patient advocate, kind and expert. As the companion to a Mayo patient, I have seen her patient-centered focus and I appreciate it.

I have a rare thyroid cancer that has metastasized to my lungs. Dr. Castro has been the best, most knowledgeable and intuitive doctor anyone could ask for. Dr. Castro has consistently made accurate and thoughtful recommendations, and has been quick to respond to my questions and concerns. My disease has no known cure-yet! But thanks to Dr. Castro, I am confident in my treatment.

Awful Doctor and I just wonder how a place like Mayo hired her. I have hashimotos and instead of doing further testing and helping me. She told me they don’t do anything for hashimotos and told me to go see a psychiatrist. There are a ton of test she should and could have done. To drive all the way from another state just to hear that. Never again. Please stay away from this dr and right now I’m questioning the entire hospital as they hired her.
