Dr. Maria Del Rio-Giles, MD

After four years of being with Dr. Giles. I am finally leaving her practice, fed up with her horrible personality, awful bedside manner and never quite giving me any answers. I walk out every time with a question of what just happened.. I usually just see her once a year for annual physical and prescription refills and now she doesn’t even offer a Pap smear. She gave me a scrunched up icky face look and said I just don’t do them anymore. Asked about weight loss. She rolled her eyes as I asked her about GLP1 and said most people should just work out harder. I’m done with her. She needs to find a new profession. She’s horrible. One of her nurses even said they get this complaint about her on a daily basis.

About a month after visit, I got a call from lab to schedule by breathing test. What breathing test? I texted Dr Giles through the patient portal and she said it was discussed at last visit. I would have remembered and it was NOT mentioned. Other communication issues throughout the 5+ years I was her patient. Finally left her practice.

This was the worst experience I have ever had in the health field. First undermined her staff to a patient. Didn't acknowledge any of my requests. Didn't assess me physically at all and after expressing interest in children I was refused a pap and said to just have It done by the OB. I am very particular about my health as I have previous history that could affect the future, but none of that mattered to her. She didn't even give me a simple physical. He note stated she discussed several things with me which were never mentioned. I have also been battling her false documentation on my chart for nearly a year! I also scheduled my husband to get established later that day and not only did he have the same interaction but he had to correct her TWICE as she was documenting his information on different patients of which he noticed different profile photos. This isn't even the half of It. Was horrifying

She made my visits to the hospital stop being torture. It made me a good routine to see it every so often.

Dr Giles has been my PCP for 5 years ,is very thorough, kind and compassionate! I am a nurse so I was looking for someone that I would be able to have an honest, long term relationship with and she has fulfilled that perfectly. Very easy to talk with, spends as much time with you as you need and has a GREAT nurse Renee` who is always calls you back or responds to your emails within the day you send/call.
